Sweed builds a Spartan

I've been eyeing these gloves on Amazon for a bit but was worried about the existing hand plate on the gloves making it look too clunky once a costume hand plate is added. Does the thickness of the original hand plate cause any issues?
They haven’t in my experience

Printer has been giving me some rough prints lately, worse than usual so I’m sanding a lot more. But we do have our two shins, moving onto the thighs

More progress over the weekend, one shin has been fully painted and is waiting to be padded. Currently the other is close to paint, just needs a pass or two more of 400 grit to smooth out the rough bits.

Unfortunately there was a casualty on Sunday, a shovel fell off the wall and landed in my workspace, crushing the freshly painted belt plate. I intended to reprint it eventually but this is a good excuse as any!

After nearly 2 months of frustrating lack of progress, the printer is finally fixed. I had to replace the motherboard, which went surprisingly well
I had to replace a motherboard. End result: I threw the whole printer in the trash lol! I’m glad it went well for you!

The finish on Montana gold is just always a step above other paints. The green looks great and added bonus, complements the power tools

It’s been a sec, but much progress has been made. Planet has come and gone which leaves two weeks to finish this thing!

I’ve printed both boots using what Noble has done on previous suits, just workshopping how they actually fit together.

Both thighs have been printed and are currently in the sanding pits.

The second shin is painted and awaiting a clear coat to smooth out its finish, with both shins ready to be padded.

Lastly the belt is fully sanded and together at last!

A couple things...

Did you have to do anything special between coats of paint due to the mixing of brands? Or did you just not have any issues? I always find that mixing brands gives me wrinkles in the paint.

Thanks for the tip on the gloves. Added to the cart for when I (someday) finish my ODST, and get to start a spartan haha.

Lastly, what brand are those shoes? They look like they're probably more comfortable than what I was planning on using....

I’ve had a little issue with the paint not curing fully or spraying two coats too soon one after the other. Just make sure to wait for the paint to be fully cured before attempting to mix brands.

The shoes are tallmenshoes, which add a 4 inch lift to my build. Honestly that’s as high as I would go as far as any lifts. The best thing about the shoes is that you can use the clearance section since it doesn’t matter what they look like, they’re gonna be covered by armor!
