I was wondering if the hot glue stregthening methos can lead to bad head aches. I am worried because i have had several lately. Please reply with any help you can provide and also i have been working out side.

i have never had a headache from a hot glue gun before, but i have gotten headaches from rotoresin, so i wear a respirator when i work with bondo, fiberglass, and resin.

Hmm, hot glue is typically completely non-toxic. I'm pretty sure that wouldn't be the problem unless the gun is malfunctioning and releasing fumes from something on the inside of it. Do you smell anything funky when you're hot gluing?

Well im talking about melting 40 sticks in a pot and pouring it into a pice of pepped armor. So yeah it smells funky.

You're probably burning the glue a little bit, and it's giving off some fumes from that. Try either turning down the heat, or wearing a respirator.

you should not be getting any head aches from hot glue. like said above there are no fumes from anything in the glue. if you are working outside the only thing that may be possible is a combo of sunlight and the heat from what ever you are using to melt it.

this is very strange indeed

Hm its been around 20-50 degrees lately. ((Yes the weather in TN is crazy it swings back and forth.)) IT might just be whether. I'm going to check to see if its the smell causing the problem.

Trying using a double burner by putting the sticks in a glass jar and having it sit in a pot of boiling water. It's what some people do to melt down chocolate without burning.

As you can see from the pot, I've had glue burn in it as well before I used the little trick.
