@ Friendly: Thanks
@ WetOkole: Sorry to hear about your father in-law
also sorry to hear you couldn't get the armor done in time but real world stuff is top priority and it'll be much better now that you don't have to rush
@ Keegan : Plaid huh? okay, now where did I put that can of plaid spraypaint
you know, I'd kind of like someone to do some plaid armor, just to be different.
Glad people are finding all the photos useful, I'm fortunate enough to have pretty decent photography equipment at my disposal and I like photography so I try to get good photos of the parts whenever possible
It's also handy to have all these pics to put in my portfolio.
So, I finished the armor up and it survived the flight to Wellington (the trigger guard on the pistol broke but I managed to hold it in place so no one noticed). The armor seemed to be well liked by the public and quite a few of the exhibitors, including the Weta crew and Richard Taylor, who made an appearance on the Sunday
Got some interesting comments, I believe someone thought I looked like a Power Ranger
and the usual Star Wars comments :rolleyes I also heard a few "He can has Recon"s as I walked around.
The armor was fairly comfortable to wear, I didn't have enough padding in the chest area (shoulders specifically) and after the 10 hour troop I did on day two I was really starting to feel it
I didn't get many pics of the finished armor on my camera (maybe 10 at the most) and quite a few are too dark, I've picked a couple that weren't dark or out of focus and I've also got a couple from another camera that was being used by a friend:
(the first two are from my camera)
There should be more pics showing up over the next week or two, I must have had at least 150 photos taken (and that's probably a low estimate) so some are bound to turn up on Flickr or Photobucket, plus Weta got some so they'll have them up on their site sometime. There'll be a video or two up on youtube sometime too
When I find any photos/videos I'll post them here.
