I'm printing mine in asa and using abs glue, I don't know if it will work on pla or other materials but it works great on asa. Before that I was using gorilla glue gel on the seems to hold the peices together then used jb weld plastic and that seemed to be strong enough.
Small note if you use abs glue, you need to make sure you hold the seems/joints together for about a minute to cure otherwise it will push apart.

I am late to the game, but I got my first 3d printer(Ender 3 v3 SE) a few weeks ago and immediately jumped down the rabbit hole of building my own Spartan, I am going for Jai-006 of Grey Team, armor which I believe is mostly Mark V(b) armor, with the air assault helmet, Operator left shoulder and MK V right shoulder, if there are other variations I am missing I'd love to hear about it. I got my friend who had a much larger printer to do the helmet in one go, and it will fit great with some padding, I've also printed the hand, forearm, bicep, and shoulder pieces and now starting from the feet up. so fair only a couple of failed prints, and some weak parts that snapped due to poor banding on my printer, but my scaling has been right on, and I look forward to getting started on the larger pieces and slicing them up and putting it all together in post-processing! Any tips or critiques are appreciated!

Any ideas on how to make the legs a bit more wearable? I’ve printed one of the legs fully with all the side pieces and stuff but it’s super uncomfortable an I can’t bend my knee to walk properly. I know I’ll be taking off a bit of the top of the shin piece and it also doesn’t fit super well with the other thigh piece(I’m not sure how they should fit together as they are a bit big on me since I had to print the shin pieces bigger so I could take them on and off easier). Any ideas?

its gonna be my first and I'm not sure if the first piece I wanna work on is a good idea, but eh.

Hi Biscuit,

This request is not okay. The 405th is not a place to skirt the system and get people to steal for you. Aguilar spent many hours creating these files and did a very good job has a right to be paid for them through his website and he is also a 405th member.

Other members have created 3d printable files for free and they are available in the Index linked to in the last comment. Please to do make a third attempt to petition for purchased files to be given to you in this forum.

Nobody is asking to steal, I simply made a request for armor files and was unaware that their files where from Aguilar, I saw the 80$ number online and made my petition based on this. if I do go through and buy the stls I will be purchasing them from another seller? No files that match my inquiry are present in index.

Hey Biscuit, I think there may be a misunderstanding on what alls going on. There’s a ton of different sellers with different prices, each who make their own files (and some scalpers out there)

This isn’t the exact file but MoeSizzlac on Thingiverse (I think he’s on here too, not 100% sure) has tons of free files, including the Mark IV that those arms are a part of. If you don’t want to spend money, his free files are great quality. I used his Mark V B when I was first getting into 3D printing a few years back and was a big fan.

Here’s a link to his Mark IV files, you can look around his profile for anything else you’d might like.

And OFiveTwo this is such a cool idea for a thread! Wish I had found it earlier!

Are there any tutorials on how to properly make the little harness ish thing that connects everything in the suit together to make it properly wearable? Also are you supposed to pad the armor(the side that is facing your body) with craft sheet foam or are clothes enough padding for it to be comfortable while wearing?

For the strapping, the places you’ll need it most is from the thighs to the belt to hold the thighs up, as well as the shoulders into the chestpiece to hold up the shoulder armor. The rest of the armor should be fine with just padding
Padding wise, you can use both upholstery foam or your undersuit to keep things in place. I’ve used padded shirts/shorts in the past and upholstery foam

Does anyone know when we can expect the next video from OFiveTwo? It has been a few months and I am still slowly printing parts, but I was hoping for an update from him at some point for the next steps in the process.

Thanks! Also any tips on how to do the under suit? I haven’t gotten started on it yet but I’ve seen a few different ways people have done them and one of the coolest so far is OFiveTwo’s but I’m not sure what it’s made of or how to go about it because there are so many different ways to do it.

Mr MK4 himself seems to have been ungodly busy the past few months, partly with some really cool halo stuff and of course his personal life. As we get closer to the end of summer, we should start seeing his online activity increase a little hopefully
