Your foam work looks amazing. Every time I try to do a foam build I can never make good cuts. always jaggedy ulgy messes, even with a xacto. Can't wait to see the undersuit :)

Take your time when doing the cuts. and make sure you have a sharp blade. just because its an x-acto doesnt mean its sharp. :)
What i did is went to walmart and bought a knife sharpener from the kitchen area and i use that to sharpen my blades every few pieces. maybe try that or try swapping out blades when you start to get the jagged cuts.

Yeah I'll try that. Thanks. What kinda technique do you use for getting the different shades of green and weathering?

I sharpen my xacto blades with aluminum foil, fold over a few sheets and run the blades through them a few times. I still change blades pretty often though. The foam on the undersuit is a textured yoga mat. The painting process is tricky, I don't know if there's actually a method namefor it, but I painted the whole thing forest green and then misted it gently with camo olive drab green.
Anyhoo...here's some more progress on the undersuit.

Its all glued on to start, then I stitch it in small sections to allow for stretching. Thanks guys!

I may just steal that tactic. Been trying to figure out how to do an undersuit. Good work, can't wait to see more.

Hey, I'm always looking for ways to do things on the cheap! Get yourself a yoga mat at tj maxx or marshalls or one of those clearance type stores. I will recommend that you get the kind with the carpeted backside, most of them are just straight up foam, but this one has a thin fibris backing which really grips the glue and also protects the pieces from tearing. This type of mat is more expensive ($20 vs $10 for the non carpeted type) but I think its totally worth it. I also coated the pieces with acrylic sealer after plasti dipping to prevent them from scratching against my armor...

Weathered the undersuit, added a matte clear coat finish, and stitched everything together. Also started painting the AR...

That's all for now! I might still do some work on the upper thigh areas, but SuperCon is tomorrow so this will have to do!

Master Chef ;) haha! I think foam builds have a far better result if done right, they just always look more "full", really awesome build!

Looks great! The undersuit just adds the right look to your armor. Love it! May I asked what paint you used for the armor?

Hey man, inspiring build! Would you mind sharing which files you used for your shins and thighs? You've inspired me to start my own Chief!

Here's an awesome shot of me in my Chief armor at Ultracon by Templar Digital. :)
