Looks good! What are you doing in regards to electronics? Just the Lightrifle, or are we going to be seeing some lights on that armour?

And besides, it may have been hot in NSW, but I think it was hotter in WA. At least, that's what Sky News NZ says.

I don't think I will put any lights in the armour, as of now, maybe some in the helmet... not sure yet.
It probably was hotter at yours, all I know is I had to wait to wear it or it would have stuck to my arms

I have a good idea as to how I will be making the undersuit.
Basically going to be using a combination of eva foam, yoga mats, grip liner, and plastic mesh.
Hoping it will work out.

The rest of the armour will be the same as already with eva foam.
The lightrifle will also use pva glue to harden it.
The magnum will made like the lightrifle too.

Yep I pretty much used some of your templates and adjusted them for foam and scratch built the rest.

Hey all, been a while since my last update so I thought it is about time to repost.

For the last few weeks, I have been scratch building the butt, thighs, legs, and boots.
So far the butt and thighs are about 90% complete on the foam stage, but I will wait until I finish them to upload some pics.
The legs are about 25%.

As for the boots I completed the foam stage today.





These boots compared to my last suit are ALOT better and not massive
I am planning on only using the soles of some shoes and attaching them to the under pieces of the boots instead of attaching shoes on the inside.
I feel that doing this will make it look better when they are done.

Anyway more on the other pieces soon

Ok update time:

Thigh pieces are now foam complete.
I attached magnets to the inside of both thigh pieces.
I put magnets in both for 2 reasons.
1. If I want to change which side I have the magnum on I can.
2. If (more likely when) I make a 2nd one, I won't have to take the other thigh apart to attach the magnets in it.
I have tested the magnets and they are strong enough to hold the magnum securely even when jumping or running.

Anyway picture time:











Only one small set back with the mannequin display, the chest piece is too large for the current supports,
so just have to modify them at some time.

I have been thinking about the undersuit recently and attaching your armour pieces to it.
I was originally going to use velcro to keep the pieces in place, but after using the magnets in the thigh pieces,
I was thinking of using the same type of magnets to hold the pieces in place.
This could easily be achieved while not having the magnets visible.
Got to research it more though, will let you all know how it go's.

The next piece is the legs of which I am about 25% through.

Update Time:

Just completed the foam stage of the legs.
Now all pieces waist down are foam complete.
After prepping / removing excess glue, I will use gap sealant again to smooth rough edges,
but this time I won't leave them out in the sun...

I have tested having all the pieces on at once and am happy to say I still have alot of good movement.
Saying this though, I cant crunch down far, but it ends up being pretty much the same amount that you can in the game.
(I can still tee-bag )









Next on my list is the last two armour pieces left:
The outer-plated forearms / handplates.

I would say that the speed in which I am building is mainly because of my new years resolution to do some form of designing everyday.
I far I haven't failed yet.
Btw your undersuit is coming along really well too.

My outer-plated handplates are now foam complete.
Planning to start on the outer-plated forearms tomorrow (of which are my last armour pieces left to make, yay).
With them though I am going to modify one to allow me to attach my phone into it just like U513's tactical forearm in his Carter Build.
I really liked that idea so with a bit of luck it will work out fine.





These pieces will be attached straight onto the undersuit when I finish it...

Don't worry I kept having the same issues when building it.

So today is a great day...
I have now completed the foam stage for the outer-plated forearms,
which also means that all of the armour pieces have now been built.

Next up is to remove any excess glue / touch-up some small things (ie fix the left side of the phone holder) / prep for gap sealant.

Ok just finished prepping the last pieces for the gap sealant stage, I think its time for bed.
Planning on doing the gap sealing tomorrow.
(XG-89 Butt, Thighs, Knees, Legs, Boots, and the Outer-plated Forearms, Handplates.)

Currently aiming to get all the pieces of the armour complete within 6 days, but I am not intending on rush finishing these.
I am confident that I can get them done in this amount of time as long as I keep to my scheduled plan.

With 4 days left to my random deadline I am still on track to complete the pieces.
They have now been hardened with pva glue.
Tomorrow I may require another coat of pva before I sand smooth, but once that is done its painting time...

WOW!!! It was really cool to catch up on this thread and see the transition from pepping to foam. I really like the foam! And I must say that the phone idea is EPIC. I literally laughed out loud at how simple but totally awesome that idea is! Those rifles are amazing! Fantastic Job!

Glad to see you like the armour so far.
All the credit for the idea of the phone attachment go's to U513.
After watching his awesome build I thought I would have to try it for myself.
As for the rifles, I wiring is about 95% complete, so very soon I will have an update on them.

3 days left.
Had to add another layer of pva to make completely sure that the pieces are tough while also having bit of flexibility.
Tomorrow I plan to sand any rough edges and begin on the paint stage.
I will have some updated pictures soon.

Well after 5 days of hard work (between working and sleeping) I have managed to complete the last remaining pieces of armour.
Going to upload some pictures tomorrow after I adjust some last few things, but for now here is a teaser.



After the armour, I am going to begin on the undersuit of which I am planning to complete in 10days...

Test fitting the armour.
To wear all of the armour, I need to complete the undersuit 1st, of which I plan to start making today.
I am still able to crouch, jump, run, bend my knees, arms, and shoulders to 90 degrees.
