Started working on your smooth helmet tonight...well when i say started working on it i meant printed it out lol

Will post pictures in here as it's coming along enough to be worth taking pictures of :p

Yeah, I plan on getting my scaled cardstock printed tomorrow!

Really looking forward to it. The helmet just looks great. Everything I loved about Slyfo's game rip, but it's smooth, and looks much easier! ;)

Sorry to request this here, but are there any Halo3 ODST .pdo files? The oly ones in the download database are the Halo2 models.

Mine is 15 pages... :\...

But the other one was 19... I just am printing it on the other side of Slyfo's model... Cuz so much folding and so many little pieces... :\

I'm gonna try to work on it today... :\... Don't know if I have enough tape... :p

EDIT:... Oh man... I printed and realized there are no numbers... -.-... I think I'm just gonna re-print... :\

Just finished with a pep of your newhelm.pdo. Screwed up the scale though. I thought to use the scaling factor from another thread and scaled to 24 with an assembled height of 25.1 cm. Halfway through assemble realized that it was going to be too small. I'm 5'6" and my head won't fit through the hole without some modifications. Not a total loss though. I'll still resin and fiberglass it. Might be able to fit my 8 year old if I open up the neck.

I was looking at your pictures on flickr. About how tall are you and what are your head measurements? Did you change the scale for yours?

err... printed out with a scaled high oft 24cm... but turned out way too small... even with an high of 24 cm oO
its as big as one helmet i made with an high of 22 cm x_X

im about 5'11", i have mine at 26.4CM (assembled height) the scale factor is something completely different, and for the newhelm.pdo(my custom halo2 model) you can use the original scaling method posted in the sticky. also on my halo 2 model, you will have to modify the neck opening, it was something i did not take into consideration during the design, hopefully my new model will be better, im not done building it yet, but i will find out soon enough.

for my smooth helmet you have to take the halo 2 helmet, scale it and find out how big in centimeters it is, then use that size (in CM) on the halo 3 helmet, once you do that it will generate a new scale you can use for the rest of the halo 3 armor.

Mine I put at 26.0... Realizing that I wanted it to be at 26.4... :\... Oh well... It's good enough... :p

I'm about halfway done puting it together... I'll get pictures... :)

I went ahead and printed out your smooth pattern without adjusting the scale. Well into cutting it out now. Hope this one will fit. If not, then I'll be working on a third pep helmet.

BTW, thanks for all your work. Helmets look great.

I'll be uploading pics once I've finished the second one.

So I finished your smooth helm tonight. I don't think I did it justice though...

It was my first ever helm. First pep project ever, really. I think I rushed it, and used the wrong glue. I'm gonna try it again and just take my time.

I think gluing the tabs to a straight surface, as opposed to a curved one, might be easier, but I think the end result of a smooth curve is more satisfying.

thats why i said you have to curve the pieces , curve them before you glue,,
here is a great tutorial for basic and advanced papercraft, they have tips on litterally everything you need to know about papercraft.
i really think everyone should watch the videos here.
-- i would still like to see a pic, even if its in a pm.
