I'm not sure but i must have big head. My scale is 19.96 for the new model and 25.7554186 for the old one. I used that scale for my whole suit and it fit fine on me... am i really that huge?
, the difference in the scale is due to the original 3d model was made in, all the halo 3 game rips are in the same scale in relation to eachother same goes for the halo 2 game rips (the halo 2 models were made bigger, so your scale is a "scale" size of the original 3d model, so it appears to be smaller by scale size) the number you need to look at for the helmet is the assembled height. i hope that makes sense.

and yes i do plan to do more of the file this way, but i need the 3d files, so I'm limited in what i can do as of now, but I'm very busy so its not going to be this week, sorry
---- edit,
just finished cutting all my pieces, now the part i HATE,, scoring..omg it blows.. ok back to work. -df4l

You know, I did my scoring before I cut.

I think it was easier.

Yea... But he hasn't came out with anything new... :\
And I don't know why he won't... I think it's just cuz he want everyone to be using his model... :\... Ionno... I don't want to cause any problems... :\

Haha, again? Do you think the changes will be worth putting off my third (and hopefully final) build of this bad boy?

Flaws? Man don't say that I am almost done cutting it out..... The only thing I have seen that was questionable was some identical pieces had folds that others didn't. So with those pieces I am holding off scoring them until I start assembly and get to them to see what folds are need and what isant.

just a few details i diddnt notice that got skewed by the smoothing , the ridges on top stick out too far, and it also 'bent' the groove on the side, , its a easy fix, and will still look good the way it is, but i just want it to be near perfection.

also i have a pic of what im working on. :)

Well I too am going for near perfection, so I shall wait for the fixed helm!

Is there by any chance a ballpark figure for when that'll be out?

hopefully within this next week, if i get time, i still have to divide up the carbine so it can be built in proper scale.
the carbine will involve a bit of cutting to get that barrel in, ill try to join the faces isnt gonna happen, but google sketchup isnt liking that file. :p so im stuck using only metasequoia
------
edit...
almost done with the carbine. its going to be quite a few pages, im guessing around 30, I rotated the 3d file so it stands butt to barrel, that way, my pepakura assembled height is the length of the gun 122.8 CM according to halopedia, also, i will scale it down for average human size (for my height(5'11")) and arrange the pages better. i will release both files so anyone wanting a normal human sized one, or a 1:1 scale can have it with minimal work.
-----
edit 2
all done with the carbine 1:1 scale is posted now in first post! ill get the human scaled model up soon
-----
edit3
human scale is up now too.
the halopedia site says the type-51 is 122.8cm long, and we know master chief is 7ft, he looks normal holding it, so to scale it to a human, i divided 122.8 by 7= 17.54cm, which is how big it would need to be if you were 1ft tall. so 17.54X5.11=89.6294 (i just rounded it to 89.63) i was able to cut down the paper usage and join some pieces to make the build faster.

Dark Rogue: You are thinking of DF81 (Da Fortun8 1). I know this is a little late, but I wanted to answer your question.

I work in Game Maker too. :rolleyes
