i'd just like to say nicely done, plus i can't wait for a live action fight between texas and calinea.

Hi everyone! Long time, no post! Sorry about that! D:
Anyways, thanks for encouragement, guys. I've really been neglecting my build lately. I've been so busy. I got engaged back in November to my Halo-loving man! :) Also, I've been crazy busy with school work, projects, band, and graduation stuff. But I did get Halo 4 and after finally finding some time to play it, it fired me up to get back to work on my armor! :D I made the recon chest by L3X BLU3RIV3R today! I'm unsure of of exactly what to do about the back as the pep file only contains the front, so if you lovely people have any suggestions I'll be more than glad to take them! :) Anyways, let me know what you think!

Well, I'm kind of depressed. I went through all that trouble just to find out that my chest piece is sized wrong. Well, guess I'm going to make another!

I know I didnt know about it for a long time, but if you do a right click on the parts section of peparuka you can bring up a measuring tool to measure between two points.

Thanks guys! I just figured out about right clicking it, too! What I did with the chest though was I accidentally put the measurement for the width of my chest into the height box! I was excited and got really ahead of myself. It's not wayyyy too big but it's just a tad too big for me. It ended up being off by about 56mm which isn't so bad but that's still 2 inches so it makes a difference. I need to be more careful! I hate wasting things!

Looking great Carolina! Hope to see more soon.
Also, PM me if you are interested and would like a Carolina helmet pep file (not the rogue helmet).
It needs an unfold but it's there :)

First time building is a struggle.. I have learned alot from building my first Mark 5 build ---> http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/36202-Upgrade-on-Mark-5-full-build

Hopefully you can find helpful hints in there.. ( the fiberglass / rondo way your doing will take longer )
* Fiberglass/Rondo builds in my terms "Better, more detailed, more time consuming, more costly, and overall more complicated."
* Foam builds in my terms "Never as good, can be really detailed or simple, can or can not be time consuming, SUPER cheap, and overall more simple."

Rondo can be very heavy.. I used foam for my chest and waist, I could not imagation how heavy my chest would be if it were fiberglassed.

Your build so far...
-Shoulder pieces are alittle big, and they are extremly hard to fiberglass and rondo (they want to bend and fold all together when your fiberglassing them.) So best of luck to you when you try to fiberglass them.. I have never got good at the Cloth/fiberglass --Rondo is the way to go! (Rondo is 4/5 cup Bondo and 1/5 Resin liquid)
-Your chest plate being big is normal- Mine is alittle big, but remember you have to put it on..so strapping system is a must. I slide into mine like a turtle... its not fun, but its foam and bends alittle.
-Liltyrant may could help you with undersuit problems, she custom made hers, but for us less talented in the sewing department--I suggest *TMS motocross Suit*** this gets alot of looks and questions what it even is... (Longshot wears this during the summer, its nice and cool. It will also take up alittle extra room inside your chest plate..*

-I thought about a morph suit, but they would get hot under that helmet of yours! Plus fog in your visor will become a problem later on... Everything your doing looks great! Your pep files are a A+ ... Remember do not add much bondo to the outside of your armor- try to fiberglass it good without warping the piece.. The more bondo on the outside of your armor the more sanding you will have to do later (detail work)...Dremel is a must if you are going the fiberglass/rondo way too....

***Words of wisdom from 405th member I always remembered.... "With enough bondo anything can be fixed" -sadly bondo cost alot 20 bucks a gallon... I used about 3 and didn't bondo my waist belt or chest...

DREMEL I HAVE---- http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-300-1-...TF8&qid=1361891270&sr=8-1&keywords=dremel+300
DREMEL TOOL MUCH NEEDED I LOVE IT--- http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-225-01...TF8&qid=1361891270&sr=8-5&keywords=dremel+300

I love Rondo way of making armor, because you can add bondo (sand and add Detail) or if you mess up, simply sand it off and add bondo here and there... easy fix just takes ALOT ALOT of time.

Foam is different because you can't take away ( you can only add to ) You can't really sand foam down or cover bad places up. You will have to add more foam on-top of to hide it... Layering foam...

So I just wanted to throw all this at you because, I wished I had alittle more insight when I started my project... If you have any questions- feel free to ask!

--I'm currently working on a 2 Kat suits for my wife and her best friend... also making Iron man masks and selling them as art =P

Nice! Good luck, I have a feeling that armor is going to look great on you...

... Did I just-

Yeah... (-_-)

I would have to agree with Nogood when it comes to the bondo rout. It is very time consuming and the cost is not for those who are of the feint of heart, but detailing with it can be extremely accurate and with practice rather easy.

Take your time with the fibreglassing and sanding processes. It's worth it to slow down and get it perfect. Nice work so far mate.

Sandbagger.

FINALLY...... an update! :)

I'm so glad everything is back to normal again and I can't wait to see all of the progress you guys have to share! I feel like I've waited forever. I wouldn't dare leave a community this amazing, and it's true, you guys are AMAZING! :)

Anyways, here's SOME of the progress I've made while the site was down.

I have completed a shoulder and forearm piece as well as a few other pieces that I will post later! I went with low definition for them because I have small arms and the high def tabs were small and difficult for me to work with. After I become more skilled at armor making, I may go back and make high definition pieces, but for now, I will be adding detail to my low def pieces. I know these aren't Carolina's shoulders, so don't worry! I will be pepping the recon shoulders and add them onto the Mark VI shoulders. I'm not entirely sure how I will go about that yet, so any suggestions are totally accepted! :) Anyways, enough chatter! Here's how they look! Sorry for the phone pictures but let me know what you think! :)

(Sorry for the tape, I needed them to stay in place!)
