@RadioaciveMicrobe: good to hear :D as for the modeling this is the first time in a long while ive gotten onto a computer that hasnt frozen or crashed. looks like my modeling-ness might take a while.

@Robogenisis: thanks :p i didnt notice anything different with the spelling at first so i was realy confused the first time i read it throught XD yea and the classified's and most of the sections down the bottom are new too. heres to rembering things not alot of people care about

hmm, maybe im just looking in the wrong place, but I could have sworn the scaling info was on this thread, and I can't find it. Can anyone help me out?

yup. gettin the laptop back in about two weeks (it had a dodgy harddrive installed) and then ill be workin on pdo-ing all the halo models i have with textures so if anyone is looking for something and would like the textures on it for refrence they can get it. for example:

ive got everything from the game charicters to the weapons to the vechials to side charicters (you can see the elite with half a jaw in the pic above (cant rember his name, wheres my graphic novel gone?)). anyway, that'll be coming soon.

keep in mind that they will just be the game models sorted out to work with pep and the textures applied, there wont be any hd models for a bit. (oh and crackhead, ill try sort that out for you when the laptop's back)

EDIT: forgot to add the reason why i posted this. the point was to ask if there was anything anyone needed first. ive already got the elites sorted and i got a bita work dont on the flood but other then that i havnt got an order to do them in, so if your stuck for one of em n would like it done next lemme know n ill line it up

Do you mean what pep files anybody wanted, or what elite first?

If I may put a suggestion, how about the HD codpiece or shin? A complete HD Master Chief armor still needs those pieces.

hey squirell good to see ya still here i have a request, do you have a the texture for the halo 3 models? i think i have it but it wont map correctly to the model

Very few people have got it to map correctly. If it were easy, then we'd have up-close reference shots of the rendered MC model, but since it isn't easy, we don't...

(y) the HD Master Chief is still uncomplete, and that's what most of the people are here for.

Let's get down to business and get those done, then we can mess around with other models.

Hmmm... The Hd helmet on the files link has less detail than the actual Hd helm. I was wondering has this file been released? I noticed there's not detail by the lights. And it's quite hard to pep on the full HD, but I dont think its nessascary. So the helm pic in the link is like a medium-hight detail. Sorry if anyones asked this before. But are you going to realease it?

all the elites in the pic are ready (appart for some final details) n i was wonderin if anyone had any other charicters that they'd like to see out before the others n ill put it at the top of the list. (bugger, i just rembered i forgot dervish in the elites)

to be honest, between all the different models of the helmet and ones of the chest i sick of starin at the cheif. as robo(it was you right?) said the hd parts made me a little crazy for some reason. i may at some stage do it but right nao i cant face it. :( sorry

yea, i have the texture but im having the same problem. whoever exported it didnt preserve the UVW coordenets :(

:eek: what the?!! i totaly didnt spot that! thanks for point that out! im just about to head to bed now but ill try sort it out in the morning. im prity sure i released it but i probibly just got the links mixed up or something. ill be over at a friendds house most of tomorow so i can fix it then. thanks again, woulda missed that one

As for the halo 2 models, I'll get right back to them when I find the memory ket and get pep up and working again (can't find my damn key code)


Now, I've got a few question for anyone who's made the torso or even who's thinking about it:

This is a pic of the lower front section. What I'd like to know is if the triangular peices in part one and two caused any problems? If so should I shorten the triangle to make it easier to fold, totaly remove that detail, or delete those perticular faces so that you dont need to fold em and you can just fill it in yourselfs?

This is a pic of the top section above the sholder. What I'd like to know is wether you feel the details highlighted caused any problems, and if so would you like em reduced in detail, replaced with floating faces or anything else?


Ok, so any time I say this wont take long something happens, like I loose all the work or something, so im guna un-jinx this and say its guna take YEARS!!!! :D



Anyhu, all and any suggestions are welcome. Here's a list of things I've done and/or am working on:


On the lower back, those little annoying square bits have been replaced with floating faces.

On the mid back, the more relief details have been replaced with 3d peices which can (or not) be stuck on after it's all assembled.

On the upper back, just behind the sholder, that stupidly finiky bit is gone.

The man-boobs have been made a little smoother

The curves in general have more sections along their length so that they're smoother without making more strips... make sence?

I'm adding in a number of refrence peices which can be printed out to check the mesurements before printing out the whole thing. These peices are accross the inner waist, accross the overall width, along the inner part of the arm hole and along the full height of the model.

The ab plate has been extended upwards so there isn't such a dramatic cut off point and you can line it up to whereever suits yourself (Thanks for the idea DoC)

I think that all I've got for now.

All and any suggestions are welcome, but if someone asks me to work on the space diper they cannot haz recon.

I think the details are just fine, they dont seem too difficult.

Keep detail 4, though, because 4 is important if you want to add perms.


god, after all that time spent, your changing it!? At least keep the original, or i will.

Personally, I didn't have much trouble with these two parts, although I must add that there is a particular order at which you need to assemble them. Otherwise, you'll have edges that won't line up.

It was a breeze to assemble these parts. Of course, I had to re-unfold the pep file but still, without knowing what the floating are going to be like, I'm going to stick with the original design. As for Part 4, my only concern here is cutting it for a pivot joint.

Those pieces were quite tricky to put together. I even printed them without edge ID numbers so that I know which parts I'm gluing together.

I decided to do away with them. I didn't cut out the pattern so when I glued the pieces around, I got a flat area with a small hole here and there.

LOL! Guilty as charged! :p But don't worry, crackhead has already made an HD codpiece and it's darn awesome!

Yeah like someone else said, the vents on the back.... URGH!!!!!!!! Other than that, i wasn't really tricky of a build. It was just time consuming, but it's an integral piece :)

heh, i havnt heard 'aww man! i just assembled this' in a while so i decided to have a go at it.

rember, if you have any ideas for the mesh and/or bits to add into the file to make sizing etc. easier

I built my chest piece based on the armpit distance concept that you came up with earlier. I think you were on to something so I re-worked your idea and came up with a different "formula." After I cut the piece in two, I'll know if my formula is correct.
