I think all the details you pointed out are perfect and fairly easy to build. Thought I had a tough time on the backplate I love it the way it is. Seems you always change things once I set my eyes on them for molding! LOL

hahaha, yea, i saw you were about to mold n thought 'right, time to make it easier'. :p nah, just kidding. on a good note, atleast yours is realy acurate!

I don't think anything needs to be changed your torso FS it's amazing I just finished mine last night with adams tut on weathering except I'm doing a charcoal color as my main color and its amazing. Id post pics, but I'll be doing that this weekend on my armor progress thread and thanks for all your hard work on those files couldn't have made it possible without you FS :not worthy:
 
heh, i havnt heard 'aww man! i just assembled this' in a while

I finished two weeks ago and vowed never to build another torso again. I still haven't seen if it fits yet, so I may have to rebuild anyway.

The new torso sounds even better than your last. Love all your stuff, FS. Keep up the good work.

I agree with Ral, your pit to pit scaling was right on track. I slightly adjusted it after taking a couple measurements and it worked great.

As far suggestions;
the torso is a very complex piece, so obviously, it's going to be a long build, and sometimes difficult. I would say my only suggestion would be to add the back detail as a floating face, so we could attack it afterwards. But that's it. Glad to hear the new one's coming! I'm half done with mine already.
 
I think you should make the simpler one, but also keep the other one. That way the intermediate pep builders and the ones that Aren't striving for every detail have a nice torso to build. While the rest of us who nagg about a certain bolt or little detail isn't there, and that can build these challenging pieces will have a challenging one to build. Remember, all those little details that are added on the file save a lot of time when you on the Bondo-detailing stage.

QFT. I think the new chest will own!. I think details 1 and 2 should go. But details 3 and 4 are fine.

hey, i decided to make a poll to keep track of what people want and to try to get what the majority want.

of corse if you have a good reason as to why you feel stongly about one of the details it'll count for more... i forgot what i was saying.... hmm... i should sleep more.

well since i already built your insane torso, and have lost all my sanity (seriously, but not from armor building) i have nothing left to wish for.

From someone who has zero experience with bondo, its very hard to put those details in after you smooth it, because bondo isnt the easiest thing to work with, even if its mixed very cold.

I say keep the details, all of them, because others may have trouble doing it with bondo.

but what do i care? i built the torso already :lol:
 
Hey. We already have a High def. And a Low def. So why not a medium defeiniton? :) I think the torso is fine apart from the detail at the back, and the small triangles in the front, Seeing as the trangles are so small they dont really coount for much and dont really make a difference to the suite overall, but theyr'e quite hard to pep. So i think they should be removed. And the detail in the back could be achieved easier by layering plastic. ect. And wauld save a hullava LOT of pepakura time. Apart from that I think the torso is perfect.
 
ohbugger, what i ment was would you like an easier one aswell as the reworked hd one. i edited that in the poll now. :)

I stand by myself here; Full Stea ahead on this new one, but keep the old one as well for the expert builders.

BUMPTACULAR!!! i sorted out summa the halo 2 stuff. just bumping this so those who were looking for it wont miss it. from the first page

As promised here's some of the Halo2 files that Ive sorted out so they work in pep and have textures. Thanks a million to conk3rs (aka:LastSpartan) for uploading the files! :)

I did this for the 405th so I don't want to see these hosted on other sites without permission. If your thinking 'but all you did was put the files in pep', your wrong. A list of the work involved is down the bottom.

If anyone would like any of the other characters and/or weapons and/or vehicles lemme know.

Here's a list of the work involved in sorting out the Halo2 files for pep:
Trudging through all the different variants of each 3ds and organising them into sections involving base character models, all the variant models, all the 3 varying degrees of less detailed models for the distant versions.
Converting all the texture files so that pep and max could use em.
Bringing all the needed models into max.
Naming them all correctly.
Deleting the parts that would be pointless in pep.
Welding all the edges.
Sorting out the stupid edges and faces that wouldn't weld. >_>
Applying the textures to check the UVWs.
Sorting out the UVWs where needed. >_>
Exporting each part individually as 3ds.
Importing each part individually into pep and applying the correct texture.
Saving each model out with correct names into organised pep packs.
And finally, uploading all the files, sorting out all the links and pictures to make it easier for ya.
So don't go stealing the work I did for 405th!

heh, the problem with modeing is that you get distracted and your tea goes cold. :( (*sniff* ill miss you cupcake tea cup).
