any chance you could release them as obj, 3ds or even max as apposed to just pep cuz its quite difficult to work out the measurements in pep. i know how to scale things in pep and where the measurements are n stuff but when the pieces are slightly rotated as they are in the pep it makes it vry hard to gage the hight needed, short of printing it out, making it, testing it, then reprinting etc.

I know people still want the spartan laser. And I'd like some of the other helmets. Does the regular master chief helmet look any different? I may want that one, I assume it's higher detail than the one most of us use now.

update? if you decided not to make the 3d files public, and only the pepakura pdo's, can i at least get a copy of the original 3d files?

How are you getting the 3D models? Are you making them from scratch in 3D Studio Max or the like, or are you exporting them out of game or beta files, or exporting and cleaning up via CAD... what's the process?
Also, what's the secrecy? Why "No redistribution!"? Do you own the copyright? Are you any less complicit by saying this?
Why must we be so silly? Why are your posts one sentence or less? Why are there so many goddamn questions?
As I type this I've got a google search on halo 3 modding forums open and the halo 3 data downloading. If you won't free this data, someone else will.

yes, if he decides not to make them PUBLIC, i still want a copy of the 3d files. I am not the public, i have been very active making pepakura files since i got here. I think most people here can tell by now that i now a thing or 2 about pepakura, and editing the models to work, and unfold properly in pepakura. most people here only want the ready-to-go unfolded .PDO files anyways. i still prefer to do it myself, it ruins the experiance for me to just download, and print.Slyfo said:

Why no redistribution? Because I don't want other people distributing the files that I spend hours on. Fairly understandable, I would think.

excuse me for not looking again at who the OP in this thread is. so you wont share the 3d files because you spent hours simply ripping them, but you will share the finished result, pdo file, which no doubt you spent twice as long on (unless your the kinda of idiot that clicks "auto unfold" and thinks your done) and like i said before, one person, contacted privately, is not the same as releasing it to the public. i.e. posting a direct link in the main thread.Slyfo said:

I am going to rip ALL the models from the retail halo 3. I'm still going to pep everything up nice and neat for everyone, and I'll CONSIDER uploading the raw models, since the agreement I ripped the beta models under would no longer be in effect. I'm a man of my word, and I agreed not to distribute the ripped OBJ models. You have a problem with that? Tough. I'm not breaking a promise to a friend because someone had a tantrum because he couldn't have something. I know, I'm such a HORRIBLE person for that, aren't I. You have my reasons now. Perhaps you judged too soon. Expect more updates later.
