Wait, that site says it may also sport a 3D Halo CE graphics engine. That does not sit right with me because the only 3D game you can buy Must come from BlueRay CD not DVD. either this means Xbox is upgrading the 360 again (a smart move into blueray) or Halo CE will be multiple platform. And i really hope not, although i don't think Microsoft would ever do that with its all star game.

Or that could mean that the good old DVD is about to be upgraded... doubtful. but that sentence has brought me great skepticism.
Actually, that could just mean they're updating the 360's GPU driver to handle the conversion of 3D data to 3D Display data- Not a difficult task, and it relies on existing 3D model data. Only difference is, instead of telling the GPU to translate it into display frames for a 2D display, it tells it to translate it into data the 3D Display can further convert to a 3D signal.

It would take very little more data than is already consumed on the DVDs of the 360.

The furthest MS will let Halo go from the Xbox is the PC.

Why does a 3D game have to be on a BluRay? I would be more concerned about double the graphics power needed.

The xbox 360 is capable of outputting a 3D game on a non-3D tv perfectly fine. KINECT !! lol

Developers were sworn to secrecy last fall when the kinect launched about a unique feature that no other game system is capable. Head Tracking.
With head tracking the kinect follows the direction of your head, turn your head and the game camera changes. The effect is an amazing 3d experience without an expensive 3d tv.

Imagine controller in hand, sitting in your chair, turn your head and your flat tv suddenly becomes a 3d window frame to the game.

I knew that only BlueRay could play 3D video, but thats a whole different method to this. Good to know i was wrong i was worried.

Why? Halo Ce was successful because of the simplicity of the game elements and controls. Sure there were some aspects that could use some work, but as far as the playability, it was a perfect game. Those are rare especially in fps/tps games. Until Halo Ce, Wolfenstein3d, Doom, and Duke Nukem 3d were really the only games that offered that kind of simplicity. Many games lose a lot of playability by complicating the amount of input controls. I'm sure they will find a way to screw it up, unless they release it without any changes.

I don't know who would buy it when it is readily available for download all over the web as "mods".

I agree with this, if i were to say im not going to buy a remake of CE I would be liar- so i am going to buy it, however the way the original one was setup IMO was perfect, we didnt have armor lock drop shields or any other effects let alone we couldnt even use the energy sword at thetime, I still play CE online on PC and honestly I really dont think its a good idea. Just upgrading the graphics and leaving it at that would be boring, updating storyline would be new but would change our perspective (original CE players) on how the story got started.

i liked the idea's people have of remaking the game but from a different perspective, maybe even from the covenant's side (personally i wouldn't care for covenant) but that would give it a new feel yet same story and updated graphics, or they could have several perspectives to choose from all bundled into one game allowing you to choose who's story you wanted to play, but i dunno i would prefer them to just leave things be with the original and finish the story rather than re make it....

halo and call of duty are two completely different creatures. they need to stay that way. call of duty is based of the feats of a normal man doing slightly un-normal things where as halo is an abnormal man doing extraordinary things. two different creatures doing two different things, even O.D.S.T is not call of duty. they never will be, and should never be, considered as such. i can see if your attempting to so what they did with the First Half Life, render it in a new engine with more powerful graphics but to change the game, to change the classic things that make halo what it is, just doesn't seem right. where does the lust for better graphics and renders stop? when does it become too much crap thats stuffed down our throats? why not leave well enough alone and stop whoreing halo out to whomever they want. leave that classic as it should be.

I would also check out the opening lines of the Bungie weekly update from last week... Some heavy hinting by mr. urk there...

I just realized something...This is another release that I can go to wearing armor. I panic rushed through my last suit to get it wearable for Reach (I was still painting at 8 that night), thinking that Reach was going to be the last release.

...And the best part is that a remade version of Halo 1 will be just like the Reach Mark V :D

Urk basically confirmed it. I thought he was hinting at something else like the Defiant Map Pack, but I can tell now that its much bigger. Something as big as Halo 1 Re-made would be perfect.

I'm sorry, I just don't see the point. Halo is only 10 years old, it still runs fine and honestly doesn't look half bad, and was almost a perfect game. If you're going to remake something, remake Marathon.
