Halo Reach Build with 2 Helmets: EVA and EOD

Started my new helmet, decided to go with the EVA... I need a challenge right?
Well part one of the challenge: There are no places around here that vacuum-form, could I use a heat gun to melt plastic down (what type of plastic I'm not sure yet) into the shape of the visor, using pressure to push it onto the smooth surface of the visor?
Part two: It's been rainy and cold here for the past week and a half (unusual for Southern California)

Now for pics:

Nice work! What's next?
Well I still have a ways to go before I finish this helmet, but I plan on doing my Reach Loadout:
Helm= E.O.D. Shoulders = O.D.S.T. Chest UA/Base Security Utility= Chobam Left Arm= Tactical/UPGS Right Arm= UA/Bracer with my Samsung FASCINATE as a screen (really not a fascinating phone, Sammy really botched up android for this one)

I'm glad to see more custom gear (meaning not character based). Taking the options given from armor loadouts and making a set kind of shows the persons likes and style

I haven't done a character based build yet... and at this rate I do not think I ever will. Why customize if you are gonna look exactly like someone else?

sweet helmet, i believe somebody else here on the forum has made a full jorge suit of armor, i would love to see the E.V.A armor completely made, and I can't wait to see how this turns out!

Well I resined today, might do another coat later today... if not I will tomorrow or something.
I will post pics after I'm completely done resining

You can home vac-form a visor, all you need is an Oven, some wood, a mold, and a shop vac.

There's a good video by one of our members (Ben I believe is his name, not sure of his Handle)

Do I need to build a vacuum form table? I only want to make this one piece, I don't want to have to make a table for one peice

Close but no ciggy

are you going to scratch in emile detail??
No, not doing an Emile helmet, If anything I'll scratch in a yin-yang

Although it may seem like much, making a vac-form table is reeeeeeeally easy. 2-3 2x4x8(or 10), a small sheet of pegboard... and I think that's it. Not to mention you could either A. Sell it? B. Depending on how awesome they end up, make several and sell them. C. Make more helmets, you never know, you just might want to later. D. Vac-form all sorts of cool stuff.

To be honest, it's the easiest way to make an EVA visor. You could, in theory, take the tutorials on making your own visor and combine like 3(?) of them until you have a big enough piece.

Just a thought.

Love the emile helmet! Glad to see my editing work paid off... 1 thing, I screwed up the bulges around the forehead (right behind the visor) I'd recommend sanding those down a bit if you want to go for game-accuracy. There is a minor curve there, but the view in pep designer totally got me out of whack. I like your pep work though, nice and clean. Resining job is good too. Can't wait to see more!

Thank you for the edit :p I actually like how the bumps look behind the visor, so I'm gunna keep them

That whole armor setup looks so cool. I gotta agree with the last post that helmet is pretty tight.

Thanks, I appreciate it
