Alright. I didn't know quite where to ask this so I guess here is would be okay.

Is Cosplay threads okay? I know that technically Halo armor is cosplay, but what I mean is costumes that don't revolve around pep, foam, or plastic, are they okay to have threads for?

I know that everyone is worried about the web attacks (I as well) but an answer would be appreciated.

Seth

Does anyone know what the silver circle is on the halo3 recon helmet? It on the (what I assume is a mount for an attacement piece) on top to the helm?

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I am having trouble locating the armor reference pictures pack. The links on the Halo Costuming Wiki are down, and I can't find them hosted anywhere else. Does anyone know where they are hosted at or could anyone post them so they will be available again? Also, adding the reference pic. pack to the 4shared file database might be a good idea if possible.

I know this is probably somewhere out there.... But I was talking about building my armor, and a friend pointed out that using hot glue on the foam might be a bad idea because hot glue will disassociate quickly in cold temperatures. Has anyone had this problem?

Right, I can't seem to find anything on the forum pertaining to this, so here goes: When printing out the scaled pep files, I'm only getting a boatload of numbers, no lines whatsoever. Is this a problem with pep designer, or have I pushed the wrong button somewhere?
Before anyone asks, I have checked my ink levels, and they're fine.

Edit: After an uninstall/reinstall, the lines appear in print preview, but not when printing.

I am pretty sure it's a bug in pep. If you check the print and paper settings, it is probably set to "Print lines smoothly (Bitmap)" When I am only getting numbers, I flip this to "Print lines clearly (Vector print)" and it seems to work for me.

Katsu, you are fabulous. I'll go check that out and see if it works. My poor recycle bin is now full of numbered paper!

Well thank heavens for that! It is now working!

Quick question, where would I get 405th merchandise from? I am not sure if there are any "Official" shirts or caps seeing that the logo needs permitted use, but if there is a way to get 405th items like that, I'd love it if someone would lead me in the right direction because I've looked and researched and got no where.

Hey 405th! So I have a question about visors. So far the only reallllly nice visor I've seen on a build is Cereal Killers build, but he never actually says where he got the visors or any specifications. Any help would be appreciated in finding the right visor. Thanks!

Cereal Killl3r used a gold tinted motorcycle helmet visor (two actually, in order to achieve the dual layer visor effect). You can purchase these visors all over the internet, but the best one I've seen yet is found here...

...just make sure you specify the right tinting. If you would like to see what this visor looks like in a helmet, check out MacAttack64's Mk VI build. This is the visor he ultimately uses in his helmet.

Hey guys I'm working on a h3 recon helm with a twist. Anyway I was wondering what the circle thing Is on the attachment piece at the top
Thanks

Okay so I finally got around to pepping a weapon(most of it anyway) but I'm unsure of where to go from here. This is what I have so far(I also pepped the data link module after I took this picture):

My question is how do people go around finishing these. Do they just harden them or slush cast the inside with Rondo somehow or what?

well its all on what your going to do it it you can rondo it and sand it down to a even layer or you can make a cast and make as many copies as you want.

Yeah, I really don't know much about mold making, but I was going to use it as a prop to my costume. What would you suggest I do as far as the Rondo what do you suggest I fill it up or just slush cast a little bit on the interior?

I don't know personally, maybe post a screencap of what you're talking about? Otherwise see if anyone else can answer from knowledge.

Usually you cut a small hole in a strategic spot in the gun, then pour rondo inside. Swirl it and repeat until you cover every spot. Then pour one small batch in and put a piece of tape over the hole and invert it, this rondos the hole shut. How much you use depends on your intentions and preference. Rondo by nature is pretty brittle, so either way you won't be able to throw this thing around, but that's true of "hero" mold casts too (there is a plastic used that catches high quality detail of molds, but it is fragile. Stunt plastics are not able to catch as much detail but can be thrown and run over).

After you rondo it, you'll want to bondo the outside to do whatever smoothing and detailing you want. Then you need to decide if you want to mold it or not.

Thank you Katsu. You are a gentleman and a scholar. And I am aware of how brittle Rondo can be, don't worry I don't intend on pistol-whipping a Sangheili anytime soon. :p

Hello everyone, what visor should I need for my Kat helmet, the hole is about 7in wide and 5 in tall. Every visor I have doesn't have any size specs listed with it. Thank you.
