Great on you to participate in charity outreach! My partner and I are looking to open a B&B and part of the plan is to provide homing for the homeless during th me off season winter months as well as some work on the property to help get them back on their feet.

Rogue is actually made from a bunch of clothes I had at the time. Going to revamp her outfit further this year.

As for TCGs, I play the Commander format but not nearly as often as I play other card games. You'll find if there's a TCG, I've checked it out at least a little bit.

And if I can combine my hobbies with charity, it's a perfect win/win for everyone, I think!

Welcome to the community!

For 3d printing every printer is different and will have its own qwerks just like any computer.
Best bet is print a few small things to start. Mayne some of the larger 40 models or upscale a marine.
Personally I printed Battletech mechs. I found this helped me learn a lot on the machine leveling, parts, feeding.
Also helped me learn what filaments I liked and disliked, suppliers and so forth. Also they take a small amount of filament so WHEN they fail, it's not a huge financial loss on resources (just annoying time lol)

This helps when you get to printing the larger pieces for your build itself. You'll know what to watch for and when your likely to get errors. It will save your sanity.

I'll stick with EVA. I just got the files for Master Chief's Infinite helmet from Heroes Workshop and I'm excited to start on that for an eventual full Infinite suit.
