Hi 405th, this is my first thread (at least the first one on the forum) of building an ODST suit.

I recently started with the construction of this suit and today I bring a little of what I was doing this last month.
For this suit I decided to use some shoulder pads that I had built a while ago with a Halo 3 marine armor, which I recently lost in a move half a month ago

Having that piece ready, I started to unfold the ODST helmet from Halo Infinite which I already have published here in the forum, inspired by my Spartan in the game

Then I started to design a helmet with a classic pattern design and that used 3 shades of colors without counting the visor and this was the result

Having everything ready, I started by building the helmet attachment achieving a result that I would later detail with small ornaments and rivets simulated in the Eva Foam

I started building the top of the helmet, as well as putting the attachment on it to get an idea of where to position it, and here are some photos of the process

and then I continued with the construction of the back of the helmet and with the parts of the sides, of which there are photos, because I forgot to take photos of when I made the front of it hahahaha

And after almost 3 weeks, this was the result of the construction

In this section I want to make a small comparison in the evolution of my ODST helmet builds

Last builds of Halo 2 and Halo Infinite helmets

I'm very happy with the result and can't wait to seal and paint it.

I will try to do it before mid-May, since on those dates in the area of Mexico where I live there are some mini carnivals with costumes, and if I want to wear the helmet during the tour, if I can wear it here, I will upload those photos :D

That ODST helmet is SUPER clean!

Yes You've done a VERY nice job on these helmets. You are pronominal at foam crafting!

Paint update

This week I did the sealing and painting of one of the helmets, specifically the ODST of Halo 2

For the seal I used a binding glue that I saw that Jerverant recommended, and to be honest, it worked too well :D

It has flexible properties (not at the level of a latex base paint, but it works very well) The sealant leaves a shiny surface already in the first layers and leaves a smooth texture, with primer and the paint gives a very very clean result with acrylic and spray paint, which by the way, with the Pega Block does not crack the paint.

In the photo above you can see that I used a bluish gray color as the base color, and I decided to do the weathering based on the work of Andrew DFT and a Mexican propmaker that I follow on FB

And the result I loved, I decided to base myself on what is said in the books about the protective equipment in the Halo universe, a team with damage and wear and tear due to the constant conflicts with various factions.

On the one hand, I decided to add more metal scratches since I considered it pertinent to reflect the areas where you can possibly receive more battle damage

All this idea came from a trip to the Gotcha with my friends, when the games on the field ended, I realized that I always had more paint stains on the right side, And boom the idea came and I applied it the day I had it
