The legs are one of the hardest peps that I made, and I had to make 4 of them. On top of that I took a few days off finishing Batman Arkhum Asylumn 1 (very good game I might say). Now I am working on the gauntlet. I did Kirrou's HD gauntlet and it took me hours to complete. For kiddy's size the details get lost. So I decide to go with Hugh's LD gauntlet. Here's is a partial completed gauntlet.

how old is your son cuz im 12 and if you can (i will pay) make me a suit (without helmet) please

My son will be 10. Even if I can agree to make you a suit, you can't afford it. It's not the materials it is the effort and work that I put into it. I work in a large institution. Taking time to work on your suit means take time away from doing other things - that means you will have to pay me more than the minimum wage. A suit can easily cost you $1,000 without the helmet.

Do it your self is not difficult (not easy either). It is a lot cheaper too.

This project is awesome. You are very talented and your kids are very lucky. I can't imagine having to do some of these peps scaled down, and you made four shins! Yikes!

Thank you. I actually gave up on costume making after finishing MC MK VI last year. After seeing the reaction of everyone during Halloween I decided to continue. In fact your work inspire me to start ODST instead MK V.

just like to repost this incase you didn't read it:
Hey there, this is amazing I'm 13 and i wish someone like you could be my dad, getting something like that would be amazing to me your kids are lucky to have you! :)
i like the way you haven't folded parts of the build as well, i heard once before "wish i didn't fold it" and wondered why, then seeing this i realized why!
hopefully i will start an odst build, like the recon helm as well, i was looking into making one, went with a *carter* helm and its too small because i don't know how to scale properly -.-

i also like the look of your iron man helmet, i have one but its low def, could you direct me to a download link if possible? (and also could you explain how you scaled it, im 1.58 meters / 62.5 inches (thats my actual height, i havent added any more on for scaling))

keep up the good work, i know your kids will be proud! :D

Well, when you have kids, they'll have you!

That is some very nice pepwork. Didn't fold all the lines? Sure could've fooled me, those suits are looking great! I'm sure your kids will love them. Any kid who's parents make them suits of armor from any video game is an amazing parent. Excelent work, I look forward to seeing the finished product!

I believe there are some scaling tutorials in the stickies. Basically I opened the file in Pepakura Designer and locate the finished measurement (on lower right). I add 1-2 inches (about 4-5 cm) when I resize. I would start with the the areas that will measure the fit first before I try to finish the whole pep. For helmet, I will finish up the crown first. For chest, I'll work on the middle part and then eyeball it. If the size is wrong, I'll rescale and do over.

The Iron Man HD helmet is very tricky especially the cheek. The one I did was a tad too small. Need to do another one. Robo3687 from therpf.com is well known. He has a complete set of the Iron Man suit.

Thanks. I learned my lesson. My two Master Chief VIs had all the lines folded and they took too much bondo to smooth out. Then I realized my mistake. Pepakura shows the line because it was programmed to do. Curved lines will have the same treatment. So I decided to look at the model on my computer and then decide which lines that I will not fold to achieve better curve.

I either surf the net aimlessly at night or do something productive. Making armor is the answer. Plus I get the satisfaction of the attention my kids get when they wear their armor.

I only have the gauntlets, the hip plates, torsos, fanny packs and a backpack to finish. Hopefully I can finish in time to see warmer weather. My garage is not heated. I can only resin and bondo outside.

Thanks for this info, will help me a lot :) i found out to not fold most lines when i did my carter helm, luckily its too small, gonna resize and remake :)
good luck with the project, should turn out great by the looks of it, and as others have said, you are one amazingly cool father :p

One of my project to complete is to built a ODST SMG out of Nerf.

A blueprint I found on web.
