Well here's a little update. It was a stressful week last week so I relaxed at home a little more this time. I added my scorpion helmet liner to the helmet and it is awesome!!

I also got my thigns and torso strapped. Just need to do my stomach/back and codpiece and its almost ready! My foam sheets get here on Monday so I will be padding and strapping next week. I also need to do the lights on the legs arms and torso still. Gonna do a bit white EL light strip in the back for all the lights but the only white ones I can find are shipped from hong kong :( anybody know where I can get some?

More next week!

lucky... you can fit padding into yuor helmet... i can't for the life of me cuz of my big head xD
it looks good! still jelous/hate you though =p
how are you gonna do the strapping?

I just cried a little, cj :'( lol! Yeah I can barely squeeze my head through the opening even after some trimming but once I'm in its very roomy in there. Have to use a nylon racing sock to suck my ears in to my head. I'm using 2" nylon webbing for the torso and thighs. I attached 2" elastic straps and linked the biceps together (ill post pics). And I'm gonna make a 2" belt for the cod. The stomach and back are gona be attached with 2" elastic as well cause I cut it into 4 pieces so it didn't pinch my sides. Ill post pics when I get it all strapped. Now get to work on your mk v!!! :)

i am all out of resin! and i i can't buy it cuz at the end of the month i am going to a con, and so i have to buy tickets for that still.... so that is my delmia right now =(
and as for the strapping, yes! please post pics! cuz all of that you said made no since to me waht so ever xD make sure to take pics of it on you, the inside of it and out!
thanks!

Hey guys wuick question on battery packs and helmet accessories. Has anyone hooked up a fan AND their lights to the same power pack in their helmet? I'm thinking of mounting a battery pack in the jaw of my helmet with a small fan mounted in one of the vents. Wondering if a 9v battery would be enough juice to power the fan and leds. I'm connecting a power switch to the led's so I'm thinking I could run the fan full time with the battery connected and could just turn my lights on with the switch whenever I wanted them on so I wouldn't drain all the battery at once. Thoughts/suggestions?? Thanks guys!!!

This is awesome. but it seems to me that the shoulders and the top part of the torso should come up some more to be rid of the spacing between the neck, and that the shoulders should be closer to the torso piece as well. But, it's still not done, and so far.. it is amazing.

Lol yeah its in the strapping stage. I get home on Monday to go to work on it. Like I told cj, I connected the 2 shoulder pieces together with a long elastic strap that sits along my upper back and keeps them up high like in one of adams videos I saw on youtube of him demonstrating how to put on a set of armor. I'm also getting stiff padding to use as a spacer on the outside of the shoulders and thighs to make them stick out more to get that broad shoulder and massive thigh look like master chief. I got high hopes that it will come out right :) but what do you guys think of my powerpack idea? Think it will work?

I'm no expert, but why don't you just have the battery IN the suits' battery pack? Snake the wires from the pack into the helmet under your balaclava.

Another thing, Is the painting on the armor done?

Because, personally I would love to see (somehow) some of that odd discoloration on John's armor.

Well for the most part it is painted. Right now I'm focusing on strapping, padding, and lighting the suit. Once its all strapped up I may do some dry brushing some spots on the armor to give it a worn in look. And from your last comment I know what you mean about the chest needing to be pressed up higher. that pic was right after I finished the painting and it had no padding or straps so it sagged quite a bit. I plan on adding ebough foam padding to the chest piece to make it sit right and look good :) my EL light strip for the back piece is in the mail so hopefully it will be lit up by Friday!! :)

D: Friday?! Man, the post office sure knows how to plan when their employees will be out playing video games.

k so im gonna head to radioshack today to pick up a small fan and possibly a new power pack. DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF A 9VOLT WILL POWER 4 LEDS AND A SMALL FAN??

:angry k guess i'll try a 4 AA power pack then. let ya know how it goes. gonna wire up my led's in my arm and leg pieces today too. pics later

Whoa I got moved to the creation forum!! Lol oh well. Little update. Got my suit strapped up and today I did most of the lighting. Here's the thigh piece

I'm happy with it so far. The EL wire was an epic fail cause it wasn't bright enough to show through the frosted plexiglass. So back to using just leds :( hopefully another update tomorrow. Just have to pad it and she's done!!! :D
