update everyday so new pictures and comments about gun
hi, i tried to make this gun a few months ago, for a first go it went well however it was not to scale and there were many errors with its design. so here i am now, i have started it already but i am only at the starting stages.
i am using foam board, its a tough and sturdy material which is easily cut with a knife, it allows me to heat bend pieces and layer certain bits. i am also using some old waste disposal tubes (drain) to make the silencer which will be madeled carefully to be as accurate as possible. i will also be using neoprene which is similar to the foam backing you get on mouse mats along with some modeling putty to fill in holes etc. so thats the materials i will be using.
i will now go through the steps i have done already so that you are up to date.
step 1 was to print out and scale the gun so it fit my hand, i don't care about the real size as the ingame version was out of proportion. i then cut out the image and stuck it onto a layer of foam board and cut around with a knife. i did this 5 times to give me a thickness of 2.5cm. the handle lower and front were only 3 layers thick and so are 1.5cm.
i then cut the pieces so that they were all seperate and that they could be done individually. these were the main body, the stock, the handle/trigger, the front handle, the magazine and the silencer. each piece was given a small join section which acts as a key and locks in place.
i started by making the magazine, i cut the detailes and removed the layer of foam for the indented areas which gives the lines you see on the in game version. i made it 1cm thick and gave it a neoprene base slightly larger than the mag itself.
once done i went ahead and made the trigger area, not so easy as the trigger itself is only 8mm in thickness, once carefully cut out it was added to the main piece.
next i cut the silencer from the pipe and sanded down the edges. i got a nut and bolt and forced the bolt into 1 end of the tube and surrounded the gap with putty and waited to set, same for the nut in the guns barrel. once done i sanded the surrounding putty to give it a smooth clean feel and screwed the silencer in place and it fits well, a bit heavy but it will balance out later.
and thats it so far, below are some images on it, not much to look at but i will be updating this topic hopefully everyday as i want the gun finished well before the 22nd of august so i can mould a few of them.
let me know if you think its good and if you have any pointers.
p.s i know its blocky but i will cast it with square edges as it can be sanded then but if its done wrong before i can't fix it. i hope you understand.
