I apologize that I didn't take a pic before I applied the sealant, I forgot. Lol

Progressing along very nicely! Did you free-hand the emblem or did you find a template somewhere? It looks great.

I also want to take a minute to thank you for making the effort to keep us up to date on your build. You post pretty near every day with new pictures. So many people post much less frequently. You stand a cut above the rest by being on here every day and answering all of our questions and comments. Thank You for keeping this build fun to follow.

Oh no problem man! I love doing this and I love seeing what you guys have to say!
And as far ad the Aquila goes I actually used another chest pdo I have. It came pep'd with the eagle already on it. I didn't use that file to begin with because there were like a million pieces and even more tabs. But I singled out the pieces that made up the Aquila, printed them and used them as my template.

By the EMPEROR I give you UPDATE!

So as you can see I have been glassing like CRAZY!
As of right now, I have two fully glassed shoulder pads, two fully glassed elbows, two glassed forearms, one glassed thigh and one partially glassed shin.

And just a little teaser of how the chest is coming along.

as always criticism and comments are welcome! Let me know what you think!

That was quite the fibreglassing marathon. Well done! How many pieces are left to glass? The backpack should be fun...

Good job painting the emblem, taping that must have been a pain. It turned out quite nice I think.

Well I still have the partially finished shin left the left boot, and the whole other leg as well as the back pack. I have the backpack pep'd but I think I will redo it and glass it as I go rather than try to figure out what to do with it now to that it is finished. I think that if I work a bit glass a bit till its finished it should be OK.
And the taping of the emblem wasn't so bad especially if the Tv is on while you work. Lol

for the back pack, if you don't feel like making another you could try resining the outside, cut it apart, glass it and reassemble it. if it needs extra strength to hold its shape while being cut apart you could make a batch of runny rondo and pour a thin layer on the inside. Just a thought. Whatever you do I am sure it is going to turn out just as awesome as all of the other pieces you've made so far. Keep up the good work!!!

Thanks man! And as far as the backpack goes, it really wasn't that hard at pepping it. I don't mind redoing it, especially since I have the paper laying around anyway.

Well I have some bad news, my hand sander passed away today. So it will be a while before I can get any sanding done on my armor. I did happen to get the elbow pads finished, not a big jump in progress I know but they were small and easy so I knocked them out. I still need to get some nylon straps and parachute clips to attach inside the elbows so I can clip them on.

Also I ran out of resin hardener so I cant get very much glassing done either. but hey its going to be a short week and I will get paid soon so Ill be up and running soon enough.

So here are some pics I managed to take today.
The elbow pads

here are the shoulder pads with what I have so far. I need some more bondo added on these in places
405460_2663831486206_1568550114_31973365_1740162439_n.jpg

I managed to get one of the forearms fully bondo'd and one partially finished. Also I got the thigh completely glassed and the shin partially glassed since I ran out of hardener.

looking good, i myself am not looking forward to the backpack, cause i am thinking of making mine usable

Well since you requested updates,
BY the EMPEROR I give you an UPDATE!
lol
well its been a long couple of days for me I am going through a heck of a time trying to get Best Buy/Geek Squad to fix my dishwasher that I bought a 5 year warranty on(this is ongoing been dealing with this for like 4 months!) and the sad thing is I was a loyal customer/EMPLOYEE there for 3 years and sold these freaking things. How crazy is that?? You'd think that an employee that left on good terms(I quit, did not get fired) is getting this kind of treatment. Oh well it goes on, my car battery died and I had to beg for one of my wonderful friends to go out of their way to drive me somewhere to get jumper cables and get my car started and then I had to get a whole new battery. Fairly new car and a new battery, it was bought in 2008, so its weird that it died on me. And then this morning my wife's jeep's windshield had apparently gotten hit by a rock that I didnt know about and the crack spread all the way across the window so I have to replace that all together.
All of this and I still managed to crank out a little update for you guys.
First off I got MAIL today!
425251_2681326083560_1568550114_31980244_732286216_n.jpg

I got the Ultramarines movie, I have never actually watched it, final verdict, it could have been better but I thought it was overall enjoyable. Also its a lot of good references for me to use for my costume. And I got my gloves so I can start to work on the the hands and forearms.
And speaking of hands, do you remember back when I mentioned the unique way I was going to try to tackle doing the hands.
428073_2681326363567_1568550114_31980245_536308732_n.jpg

I am modifying the Iron Man hands to where I only use the top plate for the back of the palm and the fingers. I am sizing them to where they fit over the gloves and give my hands a bit of that bulky mechanical look to them. I have not seen anyone else do this yet and am completely surprised that no one has.
429354_2681326723576_1568550114_31980246_49690842_n.jpg

424883_2681326843579_1568550114_31980247_1585666276_n.jpg

I am undecided as to if I need to make the finger pieces bigger or not.
408150_2681327163587_1568550114_31980248_596975134_n.jpg

and as you can see I can still move my fingers so I will be able to grip things with them, I really like how this worked out, I had it working in my head but could not wait to be able to actually pep them out and try for sure.
Let me know what you guys think! And if I am the first to think of this(not sure if I am or not, just havn't seen where anyone came out and said this is what they did) feel free to steal this idea for yourself.

This looks awesome! I've been working on my own BA army lately, so I've gotten decently familiar with the armor designs, and it's looking pretty spot on! I'm really loving it, can't wait to see more!

Also here is an update.

404331_2699438176351_1568550114_31987933_1465010266_n.jpg

I should be finishing the finger tips tonight and start working on the left hand. Hopefully I can start glassing these guys soon.
Progress has been slow the last couple of days, I seem to have caught the Skyrim fever. Lol

So pep'd out the other hand tonight and started glassing them.
427628_2712441381423_1568550114_31991720_1153546312_n.jpg

got to finish glassing the left handplate and resin the outsides of all the fingers and then I can put my thin coat of bondo on them

Also got to sanding one of the forearms

418303_2712442461450_1568550114_31991723_749281311_n.jpg

still some work to do on them definitely but the wife went to bed and I didnt want to be up sanding while she tried to sleep.
will hopefully get on the shoulders Saturday, wont get to them tomorrow at all, I am going to a concert tomorrow night. I am a bit of a VA country boy so I am going to see a Colt Ford show. lol

And here is what I have, I decided to take a pic of everything that I have so far.
429580_2712442821459_1568550114_31991724_1442526994_n.jpg

The chest helmet and elbows are done with the exception of weathering and the padding and strapping for the elbows and chest. I have two glassed and bondo'd forearms and shoulders that need finishing. I have one 2/3rds fiberglassed shin one fully glassed thigh. both boots and the right leg need to be glassed. the fingers are curing as I type. and I still have to redo the back pack.
I am waiting for more chip brushes as well as parachute clips and nylon webbing to come in the mail. I need to go pick up some eva foam so I can start working on the padding. And that is where I am right now.

Getting the fibreglass to lie down properly must have been interesting in the little hand pieces. The gloves look like they are going to be amazing, can't wait to see them painted up.

You have an impressive pile of parts sitting on your couch. I especially like how the helmet sits ontop of the chest. Have you thought about how you are going to display the finished suit?
