Getting the fibreglass to lie down properly must have been interesting in the little hand pieces. The gloves look like they are going to be amazing, can't wait to see them painted up.

You have an impressive pile of parts sitting on your couch. I especially like how the helmet sits ontop of the chest. Have you thought about how you are going to display the finished suit?

Thanks a bunch! And it really wasn't too hard I cut the glass cloth to small squares and they were pretty cooperative. And as far as displaying them, I hadn't given it much thought yet I suppose I could build a shelf for it. I am sure ill figure out something.

tiniest of updates:
got home late, but I sanded alot on the forearm i was working on.

also started sanding on one of the shoulders and found a soft spot of bondo that didnt mix with the hardener when put on.

I will fix this tomorrow, tired now goin to bed.

ok so I got the fingers for one hand glassed and trimmed up

They arent attached yet, I just added some bondo to this set and am waiting for them to cure right now, gonna go work on sanding the shoulder.

OK so I know I have been quiet for a few days, but I've had a busy weekend. Unfortunately not so much working on this suit. And then I woke up to this this morning.

totally did not watch the news to see what this coming.

So instead of work at 9 I'm going in at noon.

But I digress, I did manage to get a little done this weekend though I got some sanding progress on the shoulders but mostly working on the hands.

I ended up using gorilla glue to bond the plates. The nice thing about that is gorilla glue expands to fill empty spaces which is awesome for gaps and the spaces the gloves don't touch all the like the inside the finger tips. As you can see I can still bend them. And don't worry about the excess white glue I have plans for it.

Good news the glove cured last night wonderfully. I managed to get alot of the excess glue trimmed off, so here ya go.

And as you can see even with all the fingers finished and the handplate I can still move the fingers pretty good, as well as grip things.

Good to know that the gloves are fully functional. they are looking really good so far, looks like it only needs a bit more cleaning up and/or battle damage.

Oh yeah, working on that now. Cleaned all the excess glue off repainted the plates and now I'm painting the glove black again for in between the plates. As far as the battle damage, I am waiting for all the pieces to be complete to do that so it is congruent/symmetrical throughout the suit.

ok so I know you guys have been craving some real progress on this so wish granted, here ya go.

I got some progress on glassing the inside of my backpack.

got one of my bondo'd shoulders sanded down

and a coat of primer

and some blue

Those shoulders must have taken alot of sanding. It looks pretty and shiny the way it is now so I'm guessing it was worth it. Is the border going to be done in gold? The Orange looks like it will clash a bit...

Yea it took alot of sanding the other shoulder that is not complete took even more. Alot of patch work. Sorry about the shiny very fresh coat of paint I got excited and took the picture too quick lol. And yes the border will be gold. I just wanted to paint the body of it that will be blue for pictures sake. I'm also thinking I have something cool to do with the border so I'm waiting to do that anyway.

Well man the Obscurus Crusade is a group just like the 405th but very dedicated to warhammer 40k costuming. For all the races too the sisters of battle the imperial guard. Even the xeno, mutant and heretics as well. You should check us out and join up, it would be great to see more members join in.

Maybe I will, doesn't post to much though. ey you think there could be Tau pdo files on Obscurus? well anyway started to pep the helmet today, going real good so far, had the luck to get the scaling right on the first try ^^

Well I know there is a helmet floating around and a shoulder guard I don't know who has them though. Look around though, I know I've seen them.

I have a video of me eating a burrito with the gloves just for chwbcc I will post that tomorrow for you

and you guys are going to think I am dumber for doing this but I wanted to and I think it looks ok, I was unhappy about still having those high rises on the shoulderpad and I didnt want to sand it down anymore on the case of it going through the paper on to the glass underneath so I decided to skin the outside of the shoulder with thin foam. It rounded it up real nice and once painted will look great.
