Ahh okay, I wasn't sure which grunt model you were going with :)

What I meant with the eyes was how you were going to see out of the costume? I thought you were making a grunt helmet, so I was just wondering how your daughter (or whoever you're building it for) was going to see out of it. Are they just going to wear it off the top of their head?

what i did was make part of the gas mask out of tinted plexiglass where my daughter could see out of the head... she can acutually see quite well. i was able to sqweeze my big head in it and could see just fine.

if you look you can see my daughters nose and eyes..

Yes you can, but only if you really look. I think that looks absolutely great so far. I like the progress that you were making on the arms and hands too.

thanks.... umm i have not made it to the arms yet though.. lol. i think you are thinking of Weeds build. he is also making a grunt for his daughter and is doing a outstanding job with arms with articulating hands. i don't know if i am going to go to that extent. i was thinking of making the arms long with just foam hands with one holding a gun of some type... maybe a needler... i don't know yet. still thinking that one out.

well as i said earlier i have a first little bit of paint on and don't like the contrast between the grey and the metal paint. workiing this weekend so nothing is getting done. going to go back at it on monday. wife is pouting because i have not done anything more on her Kat so i am going to get some done for her monday. have to admit i am having more fun with this one because i am making it up as i go along...

So, what did you use for the glowing rings? i can't seem to find a solution to it with my grunt.

please respond.

i used el-wire 2.5 mm.. ordered it from el-wire pros for about $18 for a portable body kit which comes with battery power pack and like 5ft in your choice of color and thickness. cut, solder, glue into place. you will need some extra wire (to space out the el-wire) and connectors which they sell on the site. you can probably find it cheaper somewhere else but these guys have always been good to me and any time i have any questions they have been quick to answer.

This is incredible foam work.
I love seeing what you did with the head - the details are amazing.

I love the fact that your daughter is wearing a "Spoiled" t-shirt while modeling this :)

Man Calladar, this grunt build is coming along nicely. You really are learning your way around the foam quickly. Keep up the great work buddy.

VERRRRY nice. Great execution. Your little one looks like she's already having fun with it. Can't wait to see the pics of her in full Grunty regailia. Do you have some sort of head rig for her to wear inside, like a helmet liner or something?
Also what are you looking at in terms of weaponry? A SCRATCHBUILT NEEDLER perhaps?

This is amazing/freakin' cute! Even more awesome that she's telling us to live long and prosper!

wow man this is simply amazing, i don't know if you've figured out what you want to do with the arms but i was thinking something you could do since grunts arms are pretty long you could build something similar to this in it (http://www.shop.com/Edu+Science+Armatron+Robotic+Arm+Toys+R+Us+Exclusive-255074746-p+.xhtml) something similar to this would allow her to use the grunts hands this toy ofc would probably be too long but figured i would see if this would be any help for you, keep up the good work can't wait to see this finished its going to take dragon con by storm lol

YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!! Holy cow this thread is s SWEET!! im so excited now. ur doin a GREAT job mah man!! epic build!! i need to get me/make me one of these for a MOVIE!!

thanks all.. i was going to get back on it this morning but i have freakin court this morning from some stuff over the weekend so this day is shot..

answers to questions above:

alix965- there is some foam padding in the helmet to hold it to her head firm so she can turn it without it moving. still thinking about a weapon and a scratch build needler is what i am leaning towards.

egam47- still working through the arms. i have thought of making working hands and had thought of those robot toy hands but the problem i have found with those, only come in right hand, too many fingers. i am still on the fence. i was thinking of just making some hands out of foam and making it where the hand can hold a weapon. was picturing the forearms with a trap door on the inside so she could still use her real hands to do things (put head on and take it off / hold something to drink..ect) and just make static hands. still playing with it.. going to get the old doodle pad out and start sketching some ideas down so i can wrap my feeble little mind around it.

once again thanks all.. hope to be able to do some work tomorrow.

I've put a lot of thought into your hands, It's kinda hard to describe so I'm going to show off my madz art skills and try to convey my message.
Please don't laugh at my drawings.

The club like gloves will probably restrict her hand movement, but she will still be able to use her fingers.
If my mad gibberish is confusing, let me know and i'll try to explain.
