BMP! Seriously considering changing my forum name...anyway, it was easy enough to build, just lots of angles to cut so it took a while. I didnt even add any details to it yet...its not really accurate to the game, so I have to get creative and try to make it as close as possible. I really like this armor design, Those two boxy things on his back will hold fans and batteries well without having to squeeze them into areas uncomfortably. I am currently building the second box thing, should be able to add some detail before I go to work...

Detailed the other boxy thing today. I start the rest of the torso tomorrow. Bought all the buckles, straps and such today. It doesn't look that complicated, I might get most of it done tomorrow...shouldn't take a month like my reach torso did...hahaha

Ugh...just finished the torso...can't believe it only took me two days, maybe 8 hours total. I will post pics of the painting process tomorrow... Need sleep...

Making fast, steady progress on the suit so I'm going to take a little break from it. I decided on a weapon, so I'm gonna switch gears and work on that. I will be making the H4 Rail Gun.
So I start with a few good reference pics and blow them up to 1:1 scale in Microsoft paint. I then print that out on card stock, was 14 pages total. Cut out the pieces and tape them together like so...


Trace that onto a large sheet of Styrofoam, the blue home insulation kind...



Roughly cut that out with xacto knife...


Cut it in better detail and sand the edges...


I used the scale on the HaloNation Wiki which says its supposed to be 44" long and 13" tall...in my opinion it seems way too big...I don't know.

I think the scaling is right. The more you detail it the smaller it will appear. Your hand sits accurately within the grip.

Silhouette Cameo...yes, thats exactly what it does...and it is awesome. haha.

ANYWAY...
I did end up redoing the Rail Gun...the first one may have been the correct scale, but I am not 7' tall like the Chiefer...it just looked goofy in my hands...


this one is MUCH better...
