Grunts are actually about 5 feet tall, they just seem shorter in game. I suggest just finding shorter people to play the grunt parts. :)

Exactly, you just need to short folks like me.

@Privateer: We'll be needing four pilots, two of which will be speaking roles, but we're kitting them out in the Halo 2 helmets with Halo 3 Marine armour - tell you what though, your helmets are gorgeous! :D

@Nugget: Quite right. That's why we're getting short girls to play the Grunts. Already have one willing victim!

Warthog is coming along nicely, pete. Not sure if I missed it but is the film going to be in a built up city like location or open battlefield?

If you need any helms or armour masters sculpted and cast just ask Id love to work with you on something for this. (y)

Cheers!

@ Privateer - where abouts are you based? Just looking at your work you'd be a fantastic asset! :)

@ Helibor - the film is set in the Andes foothills, so mostly open terrain and hilly woodland. However, the big finale takes place in the abandoned Las Armas weapons factory complex, and a large chunk of the film will also take place at the redubbed "Firebase Kilo", an abandoned 20th century air strip recovered and turned into a UNSC regional base of operations.

Nice. Sounds epic. I can imagine and aliens LUV-26 feel about this :)

I am thinking of doing a medic version of the marine. Shoulder patch and medic pack. I know I am bugging u something cronic but might ya need any medics? ;)

The film has several Corpsmen throughout - the Recon unit has an attached Corpsman, PO3 Bignot. A team of Corpsmen are also seen at the Pelican crash site at the end of the film.

All choices on supporting actors will need to be made based on photographs and so on. Like I said - I'll buzz you later about it. :)

Ok pete. Thanks for considering me. Just very pasionate and enthusiastic. I will follow your progress keenly.

Let me know once you begin casting. Will send pics and any info u need. Got a brother who is also pretty switched on in illustration and graphic art if ya need any help there.

Not sure what i can do being a copper but if ya need answers in that field for filming or law/ legal questions just ask.

Hi folks
Just dropped by to check out the latest from Pete- thanks for the kind words on the Warthog everyone !.
I am cladding up the framework at the moment before the fibreglass goes on, so its nice to see a definate stage of development finally beginning.

Yet to fit a petrol tank though....!

On a personal note I too am keen to see the extra work from the other members of Pete's team, the whole project seems to be snowballing into something really rather amazing.

Crikey! How is a guy supposed to turn down an offer like that? You have a PM inbound!

The Warthog's looking awesome, I'm really excited.

Jumping back to the topic of who-can-play-Grunts, have you considered having people crouched and molding the body to accomodate them? Grunts have an awkward, lopey run as it is.
Here's a crude Flash drawing of what I mean.

GruntSetup.png

The green being the general shape of a Grunt,
The red being the crouched, incredibly uncomfortable person inside,
The dark blue being the supports or extra parts to enforce the costume.

They'll need to be leaned forward a bit more so as to not lose balance when they wobble along. Haha.
Or maybe this is just another of my crazy ideas.
But that was the first thing that popped in my head.

HI-
Ill try and get more pics up of the warthog soon, as I have almost finished the first caldding stage.
Btw, with regards to the above post, it does work, this is how the actor who played the clown in Spawn had to pose:

You bet, must have been nice to stand at the end of day.
It'd give a good 'waddle' to the walk, a bit like the keeprs in 5th Element:
