Halo 3: Odst - Pepakura Armor

After publishing the first version of the chest plate, I had a lot of feedback saying the pouches are separate. You can do whatever you want. I'm done with the chest plate. Any problems you have, I guess you'll need to solve yourself. I may redo the pouch at some time, but I'm looking forward, not back. I think I've used up all of my interest in the chest plate on doing the multiple edits of the file. So I'm done with that. But the modeling must go on. I think I may have the last equiptment plate (the center one) up by Monday. (Tommorow I have the ACT and a party).

Oh, and CityStatic, nice to see you posting. Thanks for the smilie, man!

hey fett how the hell do you scale these things?

not positive, but I'm pretty sure he said somewhere that it is one size fits all.

You all have done a great job with these pep pieces. When I requested them a week ago, I was expected just the shoulders, but all the other pieces are even better. I don't know where half the pieces go. :p Great job everyone, especially you NightShade for taking the time to model the pieces.

What are the valley and the moutain folds on these? I'm so confused. Lol

-.-.-.= Moutain
------=Valley?

Same with the weta files on the folds right?

Lol, I is uber nub.

Other way around. The default settings for folds are:

-------- Mountain
_._._._. Valley

If you want to change the way the fold lines are, go to Settings > Other Settings, and then you'll see edit buttons to edit the fold lines. I don't do this, but you can for whatever reason.

Hey, Crucible, yours is more accurate, no offense Nightshade, But it doesn't slope down at the end either the picture you shown.

That was the point in me re-modelling it. I'm also working on a file where the packs are made bespoke to the chestplate in sets of two and four.

I wouldn' take offense if it weren't for the fact that he's making his models right off of mine ... :cautious:

EDIT:

By the way, Crucible, you need to reverse the normals on the little face on the top left. Or there won't be any tabs for it.

And Ral, thanks for the unfolds.

PS - Hey Rvb18 and FETT, can you delete your like 15 posts about scaling once you resolve the problem? Just put the scale you agree on on the original post with the links to the file. Then we can delete like a whole page of posts. Thanks.

The OBJ file is posted on Post#93 of the thread.

Then explain. You posted the OBJ files up yourself, I expressed my desire to re-work the files, and you had no complaints as to me doing it when I said so a few pages back. Also, I'm not claiming the re-modelled file as completely my own work - all credit went to you.

Therefore, go ahead and bite me.

Come on guys, don't start fighting, please, first topic that is really long without fights, and now one is about to start, lets all just relax and be happy, PLEASEEEEE.

There aren't any fights. But I refuse to be accountable for one person whining when his files are posted in public form, knowing full well the risks associated with doing so.

I took the file and improved upon it for the betterment of the entire community. I didn't ask for anything back, I didn't even ask for any credit for the improvements I made. Therefore, anybody who starts complaining when I pretty much GIVE them my improvements pretty much deserves to have a face full of 'no u'.

Whoah, please calm down a little. The thing about deleting the .obj files was just something I was planning to do for a while. It really didn't have that much to do with you editting the pouch. I totally take responsability for publishing editiable files. I'm not whining about that. That would be like me giving away a bunch of keys to my house and them complaining that someone went in. And trust me, I'm all for betterment of the entire community (what do you think I've been doing for the last week?). It's just I'd rather you ask. Coming into the thread on like the 12th page, saying my model is inaccurate and posting an editted version is just ... a tad bit unnerving. I'd just rather you ask or make a model from scratch. I let Warhound edit my chestplate model after he asked, and I had no problem. I'm not whining. And I definitely not mad just 'cause someone said my model was inaccurate. I'd rather get negative feedback and fix it than get not feedback at all. Please don't say I'm whining. It's just like ... what if someone took one of FlyingSquirl's models (not comparing myself to him here) and posted thier own version. I'm not totally mad or anything. I'd just like you to ask first. That's all. It has nothing to do with credit. What difference does it make who made the model anyway? It'll still end up being your armor in the end. Please let's be friends. I've always been a friendly guy since I've come on here. I'm just here to have fun.

PS - Just wondering, if you had the ability to edit the model, why didn't you start from scratch? The pouch isn't exactly what I'd call a workload
