Halo 3: Odst - Pepakura Armor

Just wondering, is anyone planning on pepping the equiptment plates?

Actually yeah, I've pepped two of them already for the plates that flank the centre belly plate. Here's a picture:

Sorry, don't have a closer picture, but you can enlarge that one and see the plates. Probably have to redo them as I think they're a little small. Also, I agree with trooper0621's comment that some of the folds are hard. However, upscaling should fix this for the most part I think.



Anyway, just waiting on that middle plate! Judging off the preview you gave us of the centre plate, I actually like the one you're doing better because it's got that flare at the top.

i saw some where someone was doin the odst thighs and i cant find them anywhere. Can someone point me in the right direction as where to find them

Alright, well then. I've just put together a few pieces from the gauntlet and I seem to have scaled it HORRIBLY WRONG. Would anyone be able to tell me which dimension associates with which dimension on the actual piece? I adjusted the height and I guess it was the wrong dimension to scale up. Came out with a piece that's too big in circumference (but this doesn't correspond to the height, the piece isn't 26cm in diameter, but it is too big). Anybody?

Haha, thanks man. As difficult as it was, it probably took me 3 hours max to pep and glue. That's with breaks thrown in, lolligagging around the house, going to the bathroom, scratching my head, etc. Not tough, but look really nice, plus you can also just bondo OVER the strap details if you want to add your own strap, but personally I think the built in strap detail works nicely. May reconsider when it's all done, who knows.

haha you're absolutely right. I printed it out again for the depth at 26cm (although I'm 5'8, a little shorter than you I think... how does that work? I must have long, disproportionate and gangly arms) and so far it's coming along really well, looks like depth was the one. I've pepped maybe.. half of it. Should have the majority of it done tonight before I goto bed (which is usually 6am, sadly) and will be able to post pics tmrw. ODST's unite!!

Custom, my man. Did it myself. It's off of the thighs that crackhead did a couple of pages back. Honestly, even if you don't know how to unfold, just TRY to unfold it. It's incredibly easy, I did it in one go and this is with no prior experience with unfolding whatsoever. Just give it a scale, click unfold, use the "join/disjoin faces" command to select how you want your parts/how they'll fit onto a page then organize them. Once you have those printed out, just flip the pattern to print the other side. Make sure you don't get them confused though haha (happened to me once already, forgot to label them). Unfortunately, I don't have a password for pepakura or I'd post up my unfold of it, sorry. Like I said though, it's easy to do and yes, definitely worth the time.

Nah, usually if there's some new great files going around it'll be all the buzz. To me, yeah these thighs have less detail but, for me at least, I can scratch build details, not structure.

What these thighs have that the WETA don't is that bottom area, where it "wraps" around your legs. There's not really any detail but the inner thigh area and paint.

Hey guys my new Odst Pistol Low Def is Done i will release a 3d file for the low def for others to unfold and i will also be releasing a higher def one if wanted.Also i have to release the file in a 3ds because i tried a Obj file and i used the mirror tool and half of the gun was gone so 3ds dosent do that. The 3ds works fine in Pepakura Designer if you didn't know that already.

If you have comments or want to point out any errors (which I'm sure are in abundance), please do so now. This model gave me more trouble than some others, because the angles of the sides, etc, weren't clearly defined, etc. This is just the first version, so please comment! I want the official version unfolded before I leave on Saturday!

I am ecstatic to find this I have a bunch of the files pulled together now for my

ODST though i had to redo the helmet a little so i could make it easier on myself



also I have been looking and I can't seem to find the thighs that have the ring on the

bottom that surrounds the leg if anyone could point me in the right direction that be awesome
