Yep that's rondo, I like it better than fiberglass for helmets. I feel it gives a much better finish inside.

Def an easier method, fiberglass is good for large peaces like chest and back but for small parts rondo is the way to go. Ok so tonight I put a second coat of rondo on the inside, was a little thin in spots. I've also went over the outside with the dremal to sand down the raised edges from the paper joints. Once the rondo dries I'll take a few pics before I start to bondo.

Oh ok. Well Is there any way I can get the logo? I want to put it on the shoulder...... Which by the way I finished!!!! Look at my profile and click veiw all started threads to find it. It's awesome!
Also, how do you resize pep files? I only have Pepakura 3, but I haven't seen a button to "Resize." I want to *TRY* making my own helmet. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT I WANT YOU TO STOP PEPING MY HELMET!!!!!!! OR RESINING, OR RONDOING, OR WHATEVER!!!!!!!!!!!! I just want to try to make my helmet. By myself. It's going to suck. But I want to try. Please help me Resize it, I am going to print one like RIGHT NOW right now, but I don't know how to size it so it will be way off. I hope my uncle has enough ink to do a second..... *yikes* lol

EDIT a few minutes later. As is turns out my uncle doesn't even have enough ink to make ONE helmet, so I will do it Wednesday. If anyone can help me with sizing (That means you John, giggle) please post here.

Are you okay o_O?? Btw nice build!

I doing good just motoring along. So on to the updates for those who are just tuning in I've put 4 (1 thin coat and 3 thick coats) of resin on the out side of the helm. I've also done 2 yep 2 coats of rondo on the inside. This thing is built like a tank. I sent some time on the with the dremal on the out side sanding down the joints where the two peaces of paper meet. In some areas I went right down to the rondo underneath. Now it's onto the bondo stage. Here is how it looks so far.

Not much new here still getting the bondo sanded down and shaped. I've been working mostly on my Master Chief trying to get it done for halloween. I don't think I'm going to make it though, still to much to do. Once I get this session of bondo sanded down I'll post a few pics.

Hey I realize that with all your other wips this hasn't seen much action but I want to say I've been working on Jun, if you check my signature, you can find the link (easy to see, I hope) and that the pep is going well. The suckish thing is that I have to wait untill after my birthday in April to resin it because it's too damn cold! hehehe.... Maybe we'll have a heatwave, but untill then, ... aww... lol. Well from the pics the helms look great, I was wondering whatever happened to the one that was a little small, hope to hear from you soon, see ya :)

Ya it's been really cold up here as well so I've had to stay out of the garage....but I did get a heater recently so I'm looking forward to trying it out. also I got called back to work so I'm back to working afternoons and with Christmas around the corner I've been doing a lot of overtime. What time I have had I've been working on an undersuit and tinkering with some magnets. My plan is to have no straps or buckles anywhere on the armor. It will all be held together and in place with magnets. Also my daughter wants to go out next year as Kat for Halloween so I've started that build as well.

Well I'm still waiting for some more about that helmet lol. So we're supposed to get a majorly freakishly hot spring this year, which is excellent because I've got a pep that I want to resin and bondo for a friends birthday this APRIL!!!! THIRD!!!! So I hope I can get that done :)

LOL still not able to use the garage way to cold and my landlord does not like me running the heater to much, cost to much in hydro. So I've just been pepping out some weapons and working on my daughters armor. Can't wait for spring to get here.

Thanx I'm hoping to get it finished soon after spring hits.Still got a'lot of sanding to do.

I love it. I am getting ready to start a recon helmet for a buddy of mine. keep us posted on the progress. I am also going to look into using rondo. My MKVI is all fiberglass on the inside. I deffinately see how rondo would be nicer to use.
