A recommendation I have for ya, when I built my scout (it's no where near the quality of yours, it sort of a project on hold) I put the visor in upside down.. with the way the scout helms shaped it worked better for me at least. Just a suggestion, I might be wrong.. again, but check it out, might help ya some

upside down, hmmm? well it should FINALLY frickin be here today...so i'll try it after work today...if i am fortunate enough that it's there. sorry, I'm impatient as hell at this point. thank you for the tip and i'll letcha know how it turns out!

EDIT: SO the visor did come in, and i am completely flummpxed on how to affix this thing. Grrr. Putting it in upside down definitely looked better but am i to use silicone to hold it, because it seems very unstable....?

I glue gun it to get it in place, then mud around the edges, then cut it, works for me, never had one fall out.

my biggest issue is that the way i cut the opening leaves alot of room. i literally have to PUSH the visor in at both top and bottom and i fear hot glue is not going to keep it in place. and as for mudding, the gaps are quite big, so i think the mud would likely slide between the gap and visor. argh! this sucks! hahaha

Finally, the visor is in. who knows how permanent it will be? I'd rather sand until my fingers bleed than do this again. Adding the visor to this helm was a MAJOR pain in the ass, but I'm glad it's done. It's kind of tight in there now, and my nose almost sits right on the visor, but I'm working on that! In-game showed very little dual layer for the scout, so i opted not to even attempt anything extra. I just wanted it done. Thanks all for checking out my progress!

Looks like all the hard work paid off, because that helmet looks wicked!
So, what do you have left? The interior? LED's?
And you're welcome, it's been a pleasure watching your progress! :D

Thanks! I dunno about the leds. in game, they do not exist, unless my references are lacking. fans might be a necessarry evil, as my face is SO close to the visor. My buddy was saying that the "vents" could be used as actual vents (imagine that) so i think I'll follow his advice and install fans for beter airflow and fog reduction. I added padding (which i had to rip out to place the visor) but it is nothing flashy, just a comfort factor.

do you have any pics of in side of the helm?

So are you going to continue with the scout perm, or only the helm? That helmet looks sick, and it would look even better with the whole armor with it.

turned out great! if you want to reinforce the visor with mud, use painters tape to seal off the areas where you are worried about dripping, worked well for me.

I dunno. I'd like (key word "like") to make various chest perms that could be interchangable, but i don't know how realistic that possibility is, as i've no idea as yet how i would secure said pieces to the existing armor underlay. we shall see with that one.

I don't know if i'm going to mud inside or not. i still have to trim the excess off the inside first, and i'll go from there. there's easily an extra inch and a half on the sides as well as an inch below the "nose" that is definitely a pain to deal with. only time will tell...
