Se7enheads' Scout Helmet

You've made me appreciate the Scout helmet. I've never really liked it in-game, but I saw this, and when I played today, I changed my helmet to scout. :thumbs up:
Fantastic work.

Primed again to see better the tiniest imperfections in an attempt to correct those as well. I also plan to create other smaller details that don't actually exist on the in game model
Cool, thats what I've done with the eva and eod, the way I see it is, the texture maps aren't high resolution enough to make decent replicas of, so you need to add little bits here and there to make the things more "real world"
Its looking great by the way.

Wow! Thanks much! I always liked the Rogue or Mark VI until I unlocked this helm in game. From there, I was hooked. I'm moreso excited that I'll soon be able to wear it.

The sentiment is always appreciated. I just think it needs something that doesn't already exist and it's always fun to make it a bit more personal. Haven't found that file yet (damnable work gets in the way) so the top is on hold for a bit. I'd love to see your work, btw. Oh, and I was freaking out because I lost my post. Heh. Then i searched a little more and found it here. Dunno if you were responsible or no, but if so...thanks!

D'OH! I feel rather stupid. That is amazing work, NZ...the EVA blows my mind...EOD just kicked my creative ambition into overdrive and of course, the ever-popular Hyabusa...can't wait for that one. I really hope to get into molding at some point, but you have to crawl before you walk, as it were. This is fun, but I would love to go that route. It doesn't seem any less time consuming based on the threads I've read from yourself and other experienced artisans here, but regardless...it appears fun and I'm always looking to learn new creative things. Good times. As far as the move and title change, did not mind at all...I was in page 3 of the noob forum before I decided to check and see if I'd been moved. Much appreciated, NZ! :not worthy:

EDIT: Wow, thanks Link! I'm getting there....nice to have all this positive reinforcment...and from such talented folks. ROCK!!!
AGBATES, Much appreciated! And if it's not obvious to all, though this is my first helm, I've been an avid artist since i could hold a crayon (and not eat it, heh) It's just a new medium/outlet for my creativity. Woohoo!

My apaologies for the double post. I hope and update doesn't truly count against you, but if so I will delete my previous post, if necessary. I think overall it was a fairly decent turnout. I'm not a100% satisfied with it, but what artist ever is with their work? All that's left is the visor (which thankfully is not a dual layer) and then the helm's done. On to the remainder of the armor![attachment=5420:012.JPG]RVB, BABY (earlier, with just the base coat, alongside Zombies' killer Rogue helm...sweet)

side veiw prior to weathering, then the final product...

This was painted today along with I Hunt Zombies World's Best Rogue (you can see his goofy ass in the pic, lolz, Zombies' helm can be viewed Here )

I used the weathering technique from Adam's tutorial and i think it turned out okay. I may have used a BIT too much primer, leaving huge areas way too dark, but hey, this IS in fact a learning experience. Obviously, this is something that takes experience to do really well, and I imagine i will get better over time. Next time I would like to try Belakor's paint chip techniques. That seems really cool, but I'd already laid down the red when i found his thread. Grrrrr. Such is life...

Wow! Great great work! That paint job looks awesome, as does the helmet. Super job.
Thanks. Sorry for the low light pics. If I'd used flash it would've been much worse. Heh. Thanks again, and hopefully I can pull some better shots during the day. :D

that looks incredible! how can you not be happy with it?
Well, being the executer of this project I see all those little imperfections moreso than anyone. I think I added too much silver, and it looks too much like it was brushed on rather than appearing to be real wear. you'd see it if I'd had better camera shots. nevertheless, the sentiment is still very much appreciated! I like it, I just don't LOVE it. Still happy with it overall, though. I thank you!!!

yay for elite forum, never would have seen this otherwise. Looks good. I'd love to see scale and outdoor shots. This should be molded.
