awsome work.

i was thinking, a trip to london would be a nice variety from the normal life in germany.
i was wondering if i could get a cast of it while im there^^

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments. Update... we finally finished the clay part of the chest sculpt late last night yay \o/... so tired lol. We are off on holiday tomorrow until the 16th and just couldnt cope with having it having over our heads whilst away : )

There are a few pieces of detail we are going to shape in plastic card before we mould it but that can wait till we get back.

Sorry for the lack of photos, it was dark when we finished last night and I want to take some good shots in full day light. All the info about casting is detailed somewhere in my thread, busy at work at the moment and need to post this quick.

Back on Monday 16th :)

that looks amazing, what plastic did you use on the helmet and where did you get it? im trying to cast a helmet and i have no clue where to get any plastic from in the U.K

Hey, can I ask where you're getting your silicone from, and how much you're using? I think I need the same stuff for my project.

Were back! :) Got back on Sunday... were both very jet lagged and recovering from Theme Park overload and Celebration V :) so weve decided to take the week off. Get back too it at the weekend! Going to get the arms cast on Saturday so we can start that part of the sculpt.

We used 2mm plastic card on the helmet, most of it was bought from ebay... Station Road Baseboards shop on ebay UK. Alternatively you can buy it at various model shops, weve only found 2 though :) one in Pickering in Yorkshire and ModelZone in Central London.

We buy our Silicone from Tiranti.co.uk / shop in central London... great silicone, great shop... really helpful staff.

im a little confused lol do u use RTV silicone, and what plastic did u pour into the mold to make the first pull, im new to the casting aspect of costume making lol.

Thanks, my question has been answered. Also, this project is brilliant by the way. I have to say I'm also in England and moulding my own Spartans, it's be nice to meet up when we're both finished. :)

We managed to get the arms moulded and ready for clay last night. It does look like some strange creature :) but it should work great as a base.

Hopefully going to get the lower arms blocked in by the end of the week, going to start tonight, looking forward too it!

As before, I have no muscles so ill have to manufacture some :)

Turns out I never posted these, really thought I had :) I took these for the RPF, shows the chest in its current form. As we are waiting 2 weeks for the printed pieces to arrive weve got the time to tidy up anything we missed before our hols.

man, I hate how awesome this is. Makes me want to give up now.

*GASP* To that I must give you a most heartfelt and emphatic NO!! If that's the case, you are not approaching this from the appropriate perspective. In fact, this should do the OPPOSITE! It should INSPIRE you to make great armor! I mean, really, look at how absolutely awesome that is!! Don't you want to be that awesome? Even half that awesome!??! Sevv has a good deal of experience, as well as an equally gifted partner, and he's actually SHARING with us!! He's also been so very helpful and generous with his advice in order to make us all better armor builders. So don't despair, little fledgling, instead revel in his genius and use it to your advantage!

P.S. I know what you really meant, you just gave me the opportunity to be more creative with my shameless compliments, so thank you ;)
