I usually make armor with foam, I called it eva foam. The material kinda like cheap mousepad

yeah some file still unfolded so you just can open it with pepakura designer

The concept here is your are using the pattern to cut out foam pieces(in this case craft foam, not foam mats), which you will put together in the same manner you would put together a normal pep file, in this case that would be hot gluing the pieces together with connector strips on the inside.
