Carpathia's Carter Build (picture heavy!!)

I finally got the torso finished. Overall, it went much more smoothly than the previous one I built, and it fits a little better. Here's how it turned out...

I've got the section that fits under the torso covering the abdomen pepped and resined (no pics yet) as well. Next, I'll continue down the body with the cod piece.

What chest is that, cause it doesn't look like Mclain's

As I stated earlier, it's L3X BLU3R1V3R's chest unfolded by me, available in the Official Reach thread by Ruze789.

Hey man, looking good. I got a question though
1- how well can you move with the body armor? I ask since I do martial arts in these suits and mobility is more crucial to me. i'm building a 3D model of my body armor so i'm trying to design it so that it's easy to get on and off and move in without taking away from the overall presentation.

How did you make the shoulders so perfectly?!?!?!
I tried to make a shoulder, but it looks like something vomited it out....

Since I have never finished an entire spartan suit, I don't know how the mobility of this suit will be. I've seen people with spartan armor that allowed them to move fairly well, then others in armor that forced them to walk like a robot. I think mine will be somewhere in between. I've never seen anyone able to move well enough to be able to perform any sort of martial arts in a spartan suit, that'd be interesting.

With all the pieces I built, patience is a key factor. Get to know the part intimately before you begin pepping. Make sure you know where each piece goes before you even cut them out and have a plan, an order to which parts will be attached first. Go slowly and methodically. Sounds more like zen, but it works for me.

Okay, thank you, but the problems are the details on the side of the armor, where they point outwards; its incredibly hard to find where the pieces go, and so with that i'll finish it (and if it's not good enough for me i'll just restart it) and with the other shoulder i will start from there and work my way to the back.
Thanks alot! :D

That's pretty much what I did, started with the most difficult pieces, then worked to the back.

What is the page count on a Pep project like this?

It depends on the size you make your armor, but a full suit could easily use 250 sheets of letter size cardstock.

I actually modeled a cod piece that has side pouches, a more accurate ball protector, and a more accurate butt protector.
It seems kinda like its for a fat man, but I tested it on a thin man 3d model and it was perfecto!
Its under my name in the official reach pep threads!

You think that would look good with Jorge's armor? Not saying he's fat but he is big, plus i'm a bit large to. (But the armor will probaly hide it) ;)

You know what?
I'll just restart the shoulder, even though I wasted about 3 hours of my time on it....
it looks really bad
but, as someone once said (I forgot who said it though) pepping makes perfect
And with this, I'm better at it XD

And another update. Not armor, but part of the outfit. Juliet76 put out a very nice set of blueprints for various Reach weapons (link here: http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/18541-Juliet76's-Blueprints), including this knife. Tonight, I used those blueprints to model this and brought it into pep, unfolded it and built it. It actually went together a lot easier than I had anticipated...

Here it is next to the sheath I built from foam core...

And a quick peek at how it will look attached to the armor...

Based on feedback, I'll most likely release this knife file and the sliced file for the sheath in Ruze's Reach file thread.

Well, that's it for now. Thanks again everyone for the compliments and comments. I love getting feedback on my work, so let me know what you think.
