Ok, prepare for an update with a lot of pictures...

I got a lot done today. I managed to use up a lot of my supplies in the process (the rest of my resin, had to buy more, the last few vinyl gloves, and the last few plastic cups), but it was worth it.

So, to start with, my shoulders.

The stock shoulders are pretty much ready to go. They're primed with only a little smoothing needed.

The right custom shoulder is set, just needs the electronics for the blue light at the base and then painted and attached to the stock shoulder.

The left custom shoulder is looking good with some work still needed in the grooves.

Next, the torso. It's resined and backfilled with rondo. It went pretty well with the foam core inside. If anything, I expected the foam to be melted away and disfigured, but only the foam near the surface was affected, and only by the resin, not so much the rondo.

It just needs a surface layer of bondo to smooth it out, then it will be ready to go.

I even managed to get my knife resined and filled with rondo. It is now rock hard and ready to be smoothed out and painted.

Here is a picture of my handplates, designed and unfolded by Ruze789. They are resined and hardened and need to be smoothed and painted.

The helmet attachment has also been filled with rondo. It just needs to be smoothed and then I can install the electronics and attach it to the helmet.

And finally, the helmet. It's getting close, still a bit of work. All the modifying is complete. I just need to spend some time cleaning and smoothing it out and it will be ready for paint.

The raised portion on the back needs to be leveled out a bit, but other than that, looks pretty good.

As you can see, I was very busy today. I did manage to get my gauntlets rondoed as well, but no pics other than the glimpse here...

So that's it for now. Lot of work done and I'm a bit burned, but still lit! Keep an eye here and let me know what you think!

Dang, you are continuing to do some VERY nice work. The chest piece, in particular, just looks fantastic. All that effort you've put in is REALLY showing. Love the knife too, might have to build one of those for myself!

Where can I find the files for the knife and the helmet attachment?

On pages 40 and 32 respectivly of Ruze's Official Reach Files thread. Also, if you had been watching this thread, you'd have noticed that the knife file was realeased on page 8 of this thread.

It all looks really great! (The knife and sheath look best :) )
By the way, how much time did the helmet take to make?
I want to make it too :)

This is looking phenomenal! Probably gonna be the first finished Reach armor build on the site (unless there's one I don't know about) =D

This helmet I could have easily pepped within 4 or 5 hours. It's the modification of the inaccuracies that is taking most of the time.

looking real;;y good man
You are way ahaid from me *(i'm also making Carter, i've only pepped half a helmet, a leg and half a cod xD)

Reaaaally clean work here!
just read through the whole thread :p
I'll definitely be following along with your progress. Seeing as you rondo each of your pieces aside to fiberglassing them, does it make the armor heavier?
I've been thinking about using rondo as a strengthening method because honestly, fiberglassing takes too much time and the strands get really messy ;P
I tried it once when working on my ODST visor mold and it kinda screwed up.. What's your mixture/ratio of bondo to resin?
Hope everything else comes along just as great!

Anthony
