Looks like a wolf spider to me.
Up at my summer cottage, I've heard some bad stories about them. They can get to be the size of a plate, and you can hear them when they walk on hard surfaces. My cousin had also woken up to almost 300 of them in his sleeping bag.
A couple of other cousins have had them crawl all over their tent, and almost rip it.
They are completely harmless though unless you really piss them off.

Some advice to add:
Beware of the chest plate scale...make sure you make a low res model first! Even if you measure yourself and are sure that it will be fine. Take the time to do the low res.
It took a week and a half to make the HD chest armor, now i have to do it again. LOL
I'm 5'9 1/2 and scaled for 5'11 (thought i'd have plenty of room) and the chest came out a little tight. I'm thinking about scaling it for 6'1 now to allow extra clearance.
Also FS keep up the good work, the helmet was a blast to make!

Check a few pages back, theres a couple pages around 38ish that have gestated heights of the hd chest for shoulder widths that FS has done up (go into Pepakura Designer, unfold the piece, go to the scale option and put in the height that yours should be with your shoulder width). its almost a linear scale so you can get it close within 1 cm and should be able to build it and fiberglass it one the outside or in depending on which face you need more or less space. look for the picture of the roman soldier

hey sorry i havnt been realy posting and what not the last few days, bin... distracted ill explane down the bottom.
i wont go throught each post cuz my mind isnt working again yet so heres a general thig "keep up the good work and try to win". j/k
the visor in the helmet looks kewl. is that the first one in the new helmet? (god! i need a memory upgrade) and em... ohyea, spiders suck, thankfuly its too cold for alot of the bigger buggers here... ehh... oh thanks for helping with the torso tips. oh and if you want me to work out what height it should be for you just gimme the mesurement accross your chest from arm pit to arm pit. emmm... icant rember the other stuff sorry
OK,heres the reason im kinda flakey: rember that girl from the bus who i saw? i asked her out when i saw her on the bus again. met up with her today; shes realy smart, mad as a badger (which suits me fine (we had an in depth disussion about how candyfloss is notorious for turning elephants pink)), she's part of a dancing company, oh, and she works part time as a model and it shows... YES THATS RIGHT!!!! IM SEEING A FRICKIN MODEL!!!! WAAAHHH!!!!

Your lucky about her being smart. I dated a model once and you couldnt carry any sort of conversation with her. She was only a good for a few choice physical activities
Eventually I just stopped calling her when I got bored. Quite frankly, if you can't talk to someone theres just no point.

haha WOOOT FS is gonna get some! grats. I dated a model once too lol did the exact same thing I just stopped calling her haha all she did was go out clubbing cook and drive around to places, bored the **** outta me. and a starfish in the bed zzzz you mighta found one thats smart!

Can anyone tell me what the scale the TORSO here would roughly be with a 49 inch chest measurement? ( all around chest and arms from top of shoulders )
I just made a Helmet today using the scaling thread info even adding a few inches and it was still TOO SMALL so I don't have the energy to make a test model.

The scaling thread I think doesn't work with FS's new HD models if I remember right. He told me that it would be better to "measure your head vertically and add a centimeter or three". For the torso, I don't know how his new scaling method works, but when he comes back I'm sure he will do the scale for you since he has helped so many with it so far.
