I just finished Plasti Dipping and I can say I can see armour now.

It is still a bit wet but I had to take some photos.

We're getting there...

I was going to paint today.

But it's raining.

So my daughter and I decided to start on her Rey costume by making some goggles (not finished yet).

And then I decided to do a test fit.

Having my 12 year old take the photos makes me look Spartan sized (I am six feet before the costume so probably 6'3" with it on).

The thigh pieces still need to be velcroed to the undersuit so that they sit a little higher but everything else feels really good and looks to be about right.

I am contemplating whether I need to Velcro the chest to the under armour so that it doesn't move around. Also I may Velcro the cod piece to the bottom of the under armour.

I think it looks kind of cool all black but I just can't wait to get painting.

Oh and that isn't the final visor, just the tester. And the gloves need to be glued after painting. And I need to make a neck seal.

We also made a Rey staff today.

Has to be Plasti Dipped, distressed and wrapped.

Good catch on the boot. No, I had to cut a slit into it in order to get my foot in. I added a buckle to close it on the inside but the glue didn't take. I am going to reinforce it using Gorilla Glue.

Thanks. I got the first coat of paint down this weekend. The colour is perfect (not going to post it till the paint is done though).

Okay, here you go...

This was just re-painted so it will be a little darker than in the pictures.

I also painted the fingers of my motocross gloves.

I still think the toilet plunger boots are the best out of everything.

Toilet plunger boots. Awesome. I will now think of that every time I look at them! They are surprisingly comfortable, although they need some working in. I used expanding foam in the toes so they are a little snug

My favourite pieces are the forearms. Mostly because they were the first pieces I did.

But I love the helmet too.

And the chest.

And the gloves will be really cool once I glue the hand plates on.

And the thighs....
