Sweed builds a Spartan

It’s about time I start up another build now that I’ve worn my ODST out to quite a few events. I’ll still be bringing it out, but I’d like to take a shot at something new!

It’s been 2 years since I built my Chief suit, so I’ll admit I’m looking forward to the process.

The suit I’ve got in mind is the Mk 7, as it’s just such a great design I can’t help myself. Models are mostly going to be from the Index, with some paid files like the biceps and shoulders for their modularity aspects.

Pics coming soon!

Here is my Mk7 in game, I’m really excited to see how it looks in real life, especially the green. It’s not the most customized but I like how sleek it looks.

So far, I’ve printed and finished the hand plates, sourced from the Index. I had to go through four different cans of green before I found the right one! Got real lucky when I saw a suit on Instagram that had the perfect color I needed.

Currently in the sand pits with the forearms, but I’ve got both biceps printed and mostly assembled, as well as the first attachment!

I had an idea when I was picking out my shoulders, luckily these ones are modular so I can swap out as needed. The Viator attachment gives me a lot of open space, the plan is to add either just the 405th hexagons or the whole logo there. Boom, free advertising

Oooohh, that green is CRISP

Some more progress over the past few days, more sanding has been done on all the shoulder attachments. Ran out of 220 grit so it’s a pause on any further finishing until I can get more.

The forearms have received their first coats of paint, with the coating being asymmetrical I’ve started with the green side first. I gotta say, I’m very excited to see the whole thing, this green looks so good!
